<font face="comic sans ms"> Hi, y'all. Frank e-mailed me a funny Dis-Con I story yesterday, and I was wondering if there are any other funny stories floating around out there that I haven't heard.

Here's the background for the story. This was the morning of Tia's infamous Fantasyland Meet. We were all wearing our silliest chapeaus (well, Frank wasn't :p ), and we met in Fantasyland right as it opened. We had already ridden quite a few of the rides, and we were worked up into a walking, talking, laughing, loud, and slighty obnoxious  frenzy. Some of us wanted to go on IASW. We met with some resistance from the crowd ;), but we all decided to go on it. I think we took up an entire boat. While we were waiting in line to ride, this happened to Frank:

I'm not sure I told you this story, but as we were getting on the boats for the one IASW ride as a group, y'all were rather boisterous. As I was getting in, a man in the next group said, "I'd say someone has had a few drinks." I turned around and said, "It wasn't enough." One of the few times in my life that the right answer came at the right time.

Does anyone else have a funny story to add?

I remember my first unofficial meeting at DIScon, the Norway Solo DISers meet that Taryn had arranged. We all decided to ride the Maelstrom first, and the CM's at Norway put us ALL in one boat. There we were, 15 adults in one boat. We were dragging bottom all the way around the ride. I was certain that we were going to get stuck somewhere along the ride, but we managed to make it through the ride.

There are so many other stories that come to mind. MVMCP and Splash Mountain and Steve's lost hat. The Aladdin Magic Carpet ride during the Fantasyland Meet (deciding how to splitup the group for the ride). Adventurers Club and how the CM's there kept picking on SideshowBob. So much fun. So little time.

OMG-ROTFLMBO!!!!!!!:p :p :p :p Frank, that is sooooooo funny!!!!
John, I remember the Maelstrom ride, too!! That was very funny, too!!:p :p :p :p
This is what happens when you put a bunch of Disneynuttes together in one place.
MVMCP was one of the funniest evenings I've ever had. I think we laughed the entire night! My favorite memory was when John kept saying "howdy, folks" all the way up and in line at TM, we get in our seats, and then all of sudden "HOWDY, FOLKS" comes over the loud speaker! I thought I would bust a gut!!!!!!
My other favorite story is...............ta-duh.........the Splash Mountain derailment episode. There we were, three innocent victims, just minding our own business, enjoying the ride, when.....out of the blue...... these ride bullies in the log behind us(you KNOW who you are!)slammed into our log!! Well, they bumped us so hard, we popped up and onto the sidewalk!!!!!! Our log was stuck!!!!!!!!    This poor CM girl tried so hard to push us back, but she just couldn't. We were stuck-hard!!!! She called for the assistance of another CM-a strapping, tall, cutie-pie, who put his back to the wall and gave us a shove back in place. :D :D :D It was hysterical!!! I laughed myself silly!! And, I got pictures to prove it really happened!!!!;) ;) :D :D
I want to add Dayna's Howie Mandell story to this thread, also. It's a DIS-CON classic. He was doing a skit for the Regis show and she might end up on TV!!!!!!! (she never did get on.) :( I don't know the whole story-so Dayna will have to tell it.
And, I can't believe I missed SSB's sing-a-long. We left just before that happened. That's what I get for leaving early!!!!!!!
I know there's tons more-just give me time to think!

O.K, Miss green-glove-Barb-for-real :), Let's get the story straight.

If I recall, You and Carol A. and Barry had your very own log, all to yourself, and ya'll were all sitting in the back two rows.

I was in the log behind you sitting in the front seat. Before we got to the end of the ride, the ride got slow and we were close to being bumper to bumper. I saw you guys standing in the back seat, JUMPING UP AND DOWN in the log trying to splash me.

Well, before we got to the last right turn in the river, ya'll were laughing and JUMPING UP AND DOWN in the log splashing me with the back of your log.

As we got to the turn, the front of your log crashed onto the side of the emergency walk way.

The castmembers came around the corner to see why no more logs were coming to the exit. You turned around to me, pointing, saying that I bumped you with my log causing the accident.

I can't believe that you did that!!!

They ended up getting eight castmembers to push your log off the emergency walk way. Security had to exit us out as troublemakers.

And all those poor people in all the logs behind us!!!

As I recall, the Orlando Sentinal newspaper had an article and picture showing all the logs backed up all the way outside up the long drop...log bumper to bumper..water soaking all those poor people. They say that this has never happened before.

Thank goodness you told them that your names were Marsha, Glo, and Pete!!!

Now isn't that really what happened Barb? Aren't you ashamed of yourself?
:jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester:

How many times has Barb tried to pass that "story" off... Rays version is closer to the truth. if Barb and Barry weren't fighting over the scavenger hunt, and rocking the boat this would have never happened :)

This is no fair! You guys are all ganging up on me!!!!!!!! What gives????
Now you know I would never alter the truth. I am a quiet, shy, demure, flower on the wall type of person. It's just not in me to tell a little white lie. ;) Besides, whatever reason would I have for not telling the truth?!?!?

Hey Dayna- tell everyone your "green bean" story. I would but just don't have a way with words like you do;)

All I can say is thank goodness that Splash Mountain is down for rehab at Disneyland or Barb would be pulling that stunt again and getting us stuck for a second time. :D

Do you think she will ever learn?

Am I in trouble now? It was the demon dolls that made me say it. I'll try and fight them off but there are so many. Ahhhhhhhhhh...........

Here's the real story on our Splash Mountain beaching...

Barb pulled out her scavenger hunt sheet and asked the CMs to stop the boat the top of the hill so she could see what the sign said before the final drop. This would delay our tour, so I leaped in the back and started fighting for the sheet. Then we dropped and I won the wrestling match. Barb then had to lean over to look at one more detail for her hunt. Then our log beached. I cursed Barb to ride IASW all day during DIS Con 2. :)

Karen and Sandra....I was thinking the same thing. Only Dayna could tell that story......I'm ROFLOL just thinking about it. Oh Dayna......where are you??? :D

Good One Ray. :D Poor Barb. :( LOL Barry. :) And Tammy....I'm with you.....thank goodness there will be NO Splash Mtn. for us this weekend...... :jester: j/k Barb. ;)

Ok, I confess-it was that danged "scavenger hunt fever". It just took over my body-I had no control over my actions-I became a woman obsessed. I'm sorry-I beached the log. Yes, I did. :( :( My addiction to hunting WDW trivia facts and items just clouded my normally logical behavior. Yes, Barry had to "subdue" me and that's how we stopped the ride. :(

YEAH, RIGHT---------IN YOUR DREAMS!!!!!!!!

:p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

How about the time in the Adventurers Club when SandraB mentioned that she was there with a bunch of friends from the internet. In one instant we went from "losers" (my son's take on this whole DIS thing) to "fah-reeks". That was one freaky evening.

And then there was the day of DIS-Con registration....I was rooming with TheLionKing (Dave) whom I hadn't met. After registering, I took a bunch of ladies up to see my room. Let's see, there was Tia, Dayna, Livia, SandraB(?). Anyway, as Dayna and crew were walking out of the room, in walks Dave, who said something like, "Oh, I'm sorry....I must be in the wrong room." Dayna, in her unmistakable style, said, "Oh, you're in the right room. We're just part of Steve's harem." The look on Dave's face was priceless.

Thus, Steve's Harem Girls were born. :D

And Barb, you guys were misbehaving on that Splash Mountain log. We ALL saw it! Someone was taking pictures (musta been Barry  ) and you almost capsized.

I am not allowed to post my funniest stories, because I may be knocked off my the Chicago mafia...but lets just say it involved getting lost coming out of the bathroom, a turnstyle and not knowing where someone's room was...lol. Ok, enough said..I do not want cement shoes.

hehehehe

Just as a point of reminder, the Chicago Orginization has connections all over the country. They are especially tight with thier "business partners" in Boston. I also know its not good to upset the guys this close to Valentines day, they seem especially edgy this time of the year :)

Am I supposed to be afraid?? Can you see me shaking? OMG I am trembling with fear.....NOT!!!
Please, don't make me go over to Chicago and teach you a lesson. Oh, and do not get your more powerful friends to intimidate me...I can not help it if you could not walk straight for 10 feet. Or do not know how to use a WDW turnstyle?? I am not afraid of you...I was not afraid of other people before you...
