We were waiting to get into Epcot and the lady in front of us asked the Cast Member where she could make dinner reservations. The Cast Member said Guest Relations was to the left of the big silver ball. The lady look at him and said:

"What Big Silver Ball?"

That is so sad!! :sad2:  I worry about some people spending so much $ and not having a flippin' clue about the most basic things. Oh well!

A lot of people that go to WDW do not spend hours out of their day on the Dis boards and do not live, breathe and dream Disney. Some people go because they won a trip or because their family takes them because they have never been.

A lot of people who go to Disney are not "Disney know-it-alls" and everything is new and exciting to them.

I know that not everyone spends the insane number of hours planning like we do and that's their choice, but I can't help but smile whenever I hear the goofy comments they make. That's how I justify my addiction:) I've got to find a reason for the insanity some how.:P

This is not so much as a funny story, but a very special one that sums up Disney World to me. Two years ago, I went down to WDW with several girlfriends...all in their early/mid-20's. We had a terrific evening at DTD and got back on the bus to the ASMusic. You know that special feeling you get at the end of a great Disney day - pleasantly tired, everything looks pretty, you're relaxed...well this little girl and her mom were sitting across from us on the bus. The girl looked about 7 years old. She leans up against her mom and said in this dreamy voice, "Oh, mom...isn't it all just so wonderful?"

Well, everyone that heard smiled, I think it just summed up how everyone felt. I still get a little teary just thinking about it.

And the rest of the trip, whenever we were having a good time, one of would say, "Oh, girls, isn't it all just so wonderful?" :wizard:

While riding the Haunted Mansion a few weeks ago, a man a couple of doombuggies ahead of us was trying to freak out his young daughter by letting out fakes screams and yells whenever something slightly creepy happened. After a few minutes of this annoying noise, I hear his daughter say, "Dad, be quiet. I'm riding here!"

I wanted to thank her, but I was laughing too hard.

Wondered if this family was English at all - my DH thinks it's him and my DD - and we were at WDW end October/beginning of November. Does this tie in?

Last Sunday at Trail's End Buffet my daughter was in the buffet line & comes back giggling. She pointed to the mom in line with her "about" 3-yr old DD & another DD she was carrying & tells me what happened.

Conversation went like this:

Mom (to 3-yr old): Honey, do you want a waffle?
DD: Are they Minnie Waffles
Mom: No, they're Mickey Waffles
DD: (stamps feet) But I want a Minnie Waffle
Mom: slaps a strawberry on top of Mickey's head & says "Here, now it's a Minnie Waffle".
DD: hops back to her table, happy she'll be eating a Minnie Waffle!!!

On our honeymoon, DH and I were young and had a lot of energy, so we got used to zig zagging our way through the crowds to get where we were going without being slowed down by others. Usually this meant DH pulling me by the hand around slow moving groups and people with strollers. One day we were speed walking through WS trying to make a PS and I said to DH, "We should have been in training for this all summer. We should have practiced speed walking." and he said to me, "No,this is how we should have practiced" and then he demonstrated by dashing ahead three steps to the left, then veering off to the right, then off to the left again, etc. I laughed so hard I almost wet myself, just imagining him at home, zig zagging around the neighborhood for exercise.

Not really funny but very cute (and soooo true):

We took DGD, 3 1/2 (and her parents, and DSIL and her husband and their two kids) to the MK in Dec. 2003. It was a beautiful, warm sunny morning when we arrived. There were characters everywhere, and that beautiful Christmas tree just as you enter the park. Our plan had been to head to Fantasyland first, but DGD insisted on taking the train ride around the park first, and couldn't be talked out of it. We got on the train, and she looked around very seriously. Finally, she said "Grandma, I really think I'm a bit overwhelmed. This is just way too much fun for little kids. Maybe it should be for grownups only!"

Now, fast forward to yesterday afternoon. We were talking about the fact that she has her first (and second) loose tooth. She got that big grin and said "Grandma, now I'm all grown up. Take me back to Disney World!" I guess I'd better start saving those pennies!

That is the cutest thing I have ever heard. I've had a rough couple of days so picturing your DGD saying that has really perked me up. Give her a big hug for me.

First Post!!

Last October as I a was leaving Magic Kingdom (where you can see tomorrow land) I overheard a conversation that went like this.

Women 1-"Look it's Downtown Disney"
Women 2-"Where is it"
Women 1-"Look strait ahead its right there"
Women 2-"I see it"

How could you mistake Tomorrow Land and Downtown Disney :confused3

Don't flame me! Those of you who look at families "forcing" a child to go on a ride... Here is one for you. My middle DD now 15 is a daredevil, but she gets very worked up and anxious while waiting in the lines. Her first time on RNR (she had sat it out the trip before) she made it through the line and into the pro-show. As the pro-show ended she began to whimper and cry. I leaned over and whispered "stop crying or ...." My DH hears this and states "Oh here we are. Another happy ____Family moment at WDW!" Everyone cracks up laughing. DD gets on the ride still whimpering. Rides it. As we get off she exclaims "That was awesome! Were we upside down?" Needless to say it has been her favorite ride ever since. Now with my DS not 11, I would never do that. different kids, different techniques! The running joke when someone gets cranky is " Another happy ---- Family moment in WDW"

Couple from my trip this past weekend:

Walking by Spaceship Earth: Kid asks if they can ride Splash Mountain. Mom says "no that is in Disney World".

On the monorail platform at MK: Older couple wants to get to All Stars. The cm says the monorail does not go there, they need to get a bus. Woman says "when we were here 3 years ago the monorail went to all the resorts".

This didn't happen at DW, but it's kinda' Disney related.

While at a free screening of Disney's Ice Princess, we got to see a trailer for the new Herbie movie. (The trailer was good, it looks like it will be a cute movie. And Ice Princes was great.) But anyway, after the trailer was over, loud enough for every one to hear it, a little girl said to her mommy "Mom, that dosen't look like a movie a movie I can see now. We will have to wait untill I'm 6 1/2!" Every one there just started to giggle.
