funnel cakes

Dose anyone know if funnel cakes count as a snack credit? Or would they be a QS credit? I've walked by them dozens of times and never tried them, they're not something we can get in our area and thought we might like to try them.

I'm pretty certain I was able to use it at MK for the powdered Funnel. I dont believe you can at Epcot.

According to this thread, in 2008 at least, the funnel cake in MK was a valid snack.

At Sleepy Hollow in MK, I was able to get a funnel cake using a snack credit and one of the ice cream cookie sandwiches also using a snack credit. I believe that recently, there have been mixed reports about being able to use a snack credit for the funnel cake. I will be in MK on July 18th and plan to try to get a funnel cake with a SC. I'll report back!

You can't get one with a QS credit. They're not available as a DDP snack at Epcot but may be at Sleepy Hollow in MK.

Even if you can't use a credit, you definitely need to try a funnel cake if you've never eaten one. MMMMMMmmmmm!

In April we got one with powdered sugar (fruit ones are not allowed as a snack), even though the DDP snack symbol is not on the menu board. I think from talking with a CM there that they don't always allow it, so they took the symbol off. We try to go when it's not too busy and ask nicely, since hubby has to have his funnel cake fix at MK every time we go.

Has never been allowed in Epcot. That kiosk is small and has only one person making them. Can you imagine the line if it was a snack credit??? At least in MK it's a large kitchen and a few service windows.

Not sure about this, but I also believe it's possible the kiosk at Epcot may not be operated by Disney. (There are restaurants operated by contractors that will take the dining plan, but kiosks operated by contractors generally don't.) They also price their funnel cakes too high for a snack credit.

just to let you know.. i was looking forward to the funnel cake i got w/ a snack credit at the walk up window place near the castle and saw that it didnt have the icon on the menu. i went back a different time and asked if it was a snack credit and to my surprise it was!-even though it didnt have the icon on their menu but other things did have the snack credit icon. so do ask. same w/ the amazing ice cream cookie sandwich at AK. I was getting bummed in line b/c it didnt have the icon but when i asked they said yes.
