When ever we are in Florida I always have to have funnel cake but we can't get it in the UK, do any of you guys have a recipe and details of how I can make some up? I can't wait until November!!!!

This is actually an old Pennsylvania Dutch recipe. The other name for them, besides Funnel Cake, is Plowlines. I guess the person who named it Plowline tended to watch where they'd already plowed instead of where they were going to plow! ;)

This isn't Disney's recipe, but one I have from my grandmother.

Plowlines or Funnel Cakes

3 eggs
2 c milk
4 c flour
¼ c sugar (opt)
½ tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder

Beat eggs; then add milk & sugar. Sift flour, salt & baking powder together. Add dry ingredients to egg/milk mixture. Beat batter until smooth. It should be thin enough to run through a small funnel.

Drop from funnel into hot, deep fat (375 degrees) holding finger over bottom of funnel to control amount of batter released. Fry until a golden brown & remove from fat; drain.
Yield: about 30
