Oh and carpet skiing is done in only a few places. I've heard they do it alot in Scotland. It is not really carpet more like astroturf.
Seems like I saw it on a float too. Maybe the Macy's Thanksgiving parade. It was on a converyor so it comes up under the skis, while you ski down, keeping you in the same spot.

yes, i have skied Alyeska, my daughter who is 12 is learning to snowboard. it really is a nice place to ski. we have a place closer to anchorage called hilltop ski area. We do sled as well.that is fun. i have seen you mention in past posts that eat you elk. are you a hunter? moose can be good, not the old ones so much.very tough. i guess i need to guess what state you live in.
