We'd like to give a share of Disney stock to our new niece & God child :)

But prefer not spending $$ on the online frames. (Would rather give more stock!)

So creative budget boarders, any cute ideas in which to give stock? Something to make or print?

TIA :)

My dd is 22 now but her aunt and uncle put a disney balloon in a box with the stock certificate attached to it....we ended up framing it and it still hangs in her room today!

Disney no longer sells single shares of stock. We wish they would as I would also buy and frame. You can buy the stock online or thru a broker but they are only via computer/virtual vs paper. We are versed in Disney stock as we buy on a recurrent basis. If anyone knows how to get an old stock certificate I would be interested in hearing. My guess is someone selling what they have on eBay.

Maybe a small Disney gift basket with a handmade certificate in it. It is sad that they no longer issue true certificates.

Are you asking for the best way to buy single shares, or a way to make a replica certificate?

The cheapest way I know to buy small amounts of Disney stock is

https://www.loyal3.com

No commissions or fees and you can continue to add small amounts in over the years, because you can also buy fractional shares as low as $10. You can also buy it directly at the Transfer Agent for Disney … I'm not sure what their account minimums or fees might be.

I know there are some websites out there with High Def resolution images of the old stock certificates. I guess you could download one of those and then print it out on a heavy paper and frame it. I assume it would be legal as long as it is indicated somewhere that the certificate is void or not authenticate.

The Disney Store sells a "Collectible Certificate" that you have to be a shareholder to buy. They verify that you are a shareholder before the purchase, but at $50 it seems kind of overpriced to me. It's cute but I think it's just the paper, not even framed.

OP here :) Thx for all the replies.

Yes, I already knew the one-share isn't sold anymore, and didn't want to pay the $50 fee. I actually saw another site selling it for $72! :confused3 I don't think so! :rotfl2: Would much rather put that to another share!

So I'm looking for fun, creative ways to give them. Either finding the Collectible Certificate on line -- do you have a link? And / or put in a basket with Disney goodies etc.

Thanks for the ideas! :goodvibes

The Official Disney Collector certificate is sold online at the disneystore.com website. They do run a check to make sure the name being submitted is a verified Disney Stockholder, so if you want your niece's name printed on the certificate, you will have to buy the share first and then order the certificate.

It's cute and I like that it includes the Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar characters. I think that like many people, I just feel a sense of nostalgia toward the old framed authentic stock certificates. I'm glad I have mine. They did make great baby gifts.

I believe that a few of the online sites like GiveAShare.com have come up with some alternate replica certificate that resembles what the stock shares used to look like, but isn't the same as what is sold at the Disney store. They then register the share of stock at the Transfer Agent and you have a choice whether or not you with to purchase the additional collector certificate from Disney yourself.
