My great friend, Laurence, sent me this video that gives a lot of background on his Dad, Wally Boag. Wally worked for many years as the highlighted entertainer at the Golden Horseshoe. His comedy act, which also featured Fulton Burley and Betty Taylor, was amazing. Walt would often go and see the show, and Wally told me once about visiting Walt in the hospital when he was dying. All of those decades later, Wally still teared up about it. I was very lucky to get to see many of his wonderful mementos (Pecos Bill chaps and hat, props from the show, his famous piano, gifts from Walt, many coveted awards) and listen to his stories. Laurence donated many things to the Walt Disney Family Museum but he still has so much stuff! He gave a wonderful talk on Wally at the museum not long ago, but sadly, they didn't allow it to be filmed and I so wish there was a record of all of that info. There were hilarious stories and lots of home movie clips and slides from Wally's years of performing, including some wonderful views of their home life.

Anyway, I know that this is well before most people here were around, but if you're interested, here's a link to the video.

Thank you for sharing! It was before my time, so I especially love reading and watching about the early years of Disneyland. Wally seemed like a fantastic performer. Makes me wish we had more quality live entertainment like this today.

DizMe, you must have seen Rod Miller, the Piano player at Coke Corner, right? When I saw the title of your post I thought it might be about him!

Great video post! I was blessed to have seen him perform when I was a kid which must have been very early 80s. I didn't know who it was and I don't remember much of the show, but I never forgot the hilarious cowboy at the Golden Horseshoe who got his teeth "knocked out" on stage and spat what seemed like hundreds of them at the audience! All the more sad now that they don't have any kind of performance, not even a piano player, there any more.

Thank you for sharing! Classic old-time entertainment like Wally Boag is missed, be it at Disneyland or elsewhere.
