Hi all!

I've been trying to think of fun activities to do while waiting on the ride lines (I don't have kids to entertain, I just want to entertain myself and my friend). Since I'm going during a busy time, I know there will be a wait even using FP and EMH whenever possible. So far some ideas I have are:

--Mad Libs
--Writing Postcards
--Making little animals from fuzzy pipe cleaners
--Making more little animals from silly putty/moling clay
--Cat's Cradle

Does anyone have any other tips on how to pass the time? And did you find things that didn't work so well (I found it was impossible to read a book while on the lines...too much moving to focus). Thanks! :wave2:

Tips I got from here...I bought the little bubbles (like for weddings) a pkg of 6 little bottles for a buck at the dollar store. I also found bouncy balls that light up when they are bounced. Very cool a dollar each.

I also bought some glow sticks and I found head bands that after you attach the glow sticks look like Mickey Ears. They'll be thrilled and I know everyone will ask "where do you get those" At the $ Store :)

On Edit: Sorry didn't Read the part about 'sans kids", but you may use these tips to help calm or entertain others and spread some pixie dust :wizard:

You can play "I Spy"! There's a million things to look at in Disney World! That should make it harder for you since you're not playing with kids.
The time will just pass right by! ::MickeyMo

Those are all fantastic ideas!!!! I never know what to do with my dd5 while in line......
Thanks!

Ooh, just remembered some more fun things to do... :cool1:

--Buy the Ultimate Disney Trivia Book and quiz each other
--If you have Disney Trivial Pursuit, bring some cards and quiz each other
--Disney charades (good for Disney characters and movie titles)
--The bubbles sound great...you can even find Candy bubbles at some stores (you can eat them!)

Anyone have more ideas? :wave2:

For me it is talking to people, in line, on a bench, at a nearby table whatever. If you put a smile on your face you attract the nicest people. This is the one part of Disney that you carry in your heart rather than in a photo album or on a tape. I am blessed with many happy minutes spent with other Disney loving people.

Our kids like the 3 hints game. We pick a category (like Disney characters, cars, family members) and give 3 clues. The others try to guess. This game can be adapted for any age by the difficulty of the clues.

For us it is talking, we plan out what is going on and what we head for next. Also catch up on news that maybe we have not told each other, with our work schedules we do not get much time together during the week... :sunny:

I love the video puzzles that they show on TV monitors while you wait in line at Mickey's Country Fair Character greeting area. You know where the picture of the character is jumbled and you have to guess who it is, with a clue of the first letter of its name. I wish they would put those in all the queues.

I havde a fun Scavenger Hunt you can download for free from my site and read while on line. Many of the items on the list can be found in the attractions themselves, as well as throughout the parks (and you can download the answer key as well!). Of course, there's always a trivia book as well..... ;)

You might want to think about the bubbles, esp. sticky ones. I guess from a little kid I wouldn't mind, but anyone over 5 or 6 getting me sticky with bubbles would probably bother me.

That being said, I love talking to people in line! I have met the most interesting people standing in line. Smile and chat! Everyone will be bored!

Here's a silly thing to do. Stand in line and look up. Just look up at the ceiling (or sky) and then whisper to your friend and have them look up. You don't even have to point, and before you know it, everyone in line will be looking up and asking each other, "What are they looking at?". :rotfl: It's interesting to see how many people are paying attention to what's going on around on them and will respoond to this gesture.

I like the trivia idea, I'll have to try that one. My DH likes to quote movie lines and have me guess what movie, but I'm terrible at it and I can never think of good lines to ask him. You could also get one of those hand held poker/blackjack/slots games.
