Looking for some fun things to do when we arrive in Miami the day before our FIRST DISNEY CRUISE!!! WOO!!! We land around noon so we should have a good amount of the day to have fun.

Also, any hotel recommendations down there for young kids?

Lastly, we are heading to WDW after our cruise. Rent a car? Bus? Taxi? Not sure what is the best option!

Thanks everyone!

We were there last week, we stayed at the Hampton Inn Brickell which was awesome. Super nice and safe area, great for walking around and eating (and fancy car spotting if anyone is into that). Our uber driver recommended the science museum (Frost I think it's called?) for the kids next time we visit. Uber to the port from that hotel was easy and the free breakfast was good. They had a big supply of granola bars at breakfast so we took 4 in our carry on bag for the terminal, came in handy!

We've done Orlando to Miami by rental car before, it's a pretty straight forward drive up the turnpike once you are outside Miami. I think we paid about $14 or so in Turnpike tolls, well worth it.

this is amazing. thank you so much for all of this!!!!

Been years since we cruised out of Miami. In those days the cruise line including the hotel the night before in the cruise fare. Cruise lines used the Omni Hotel (which is now defunct) because it was attached to a mall. They gave you a flyer suggesting you not leave your hotel for safety reasons. Not sure what the safety status in Miami is now for tourists.

Enjoy! Our kids liked the free to play classic arcade games near the bar...we liked the free drink tickets they gave us for the bar :)

My daughter and I are staying at the Hampton Inn Brickell in October, the night before and the night after our cruise. I’m super relieved to hear you had a good experience! Thanks for sharing

How old are your kids?

We are in FL - a little further north than Miami but close. Our son loves Zoo Miami (awesome zoo!), the train museum, Frost Science Center... there's also a childrens museum but we've never been. This would be geared towards younger kiddos for sure but just some food for thought!

We really enjoy ZooMiami.

If you have a rental car, you might also consider going out to the Shark Valley visitor center in the Everglades or taking an airboat ride.

Almost 3 and 6 years old. So those are great options!
