What are some fun & Affordable things that I should plan on our "relax and unwind" days at the resort. I haven't been in a while but remember they had carriage rides at some resorts like PORS. Where can I find info with pricing on this type of stuff? Maybe I'm just missing it on the Disney site.

We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside in early May.

I don't know much about POR having only stayed there once for a short trip. Perhaps if you asked this over on the resort board you would get some good responses. I am almost positive that there is a POR FAQ thread.

For our relaxing day, however, we typically eat breakfast at the Poly pool (tonga toast!), eat lunch at whatever resort's pool we are staying at, and eat dinner by the pool at the Wilderness Lodge. We call it our pool day. Fun!

There are street performers (jugglers, one man bands, etc) at the Boardwalk in the evening, as well as bikes for up to 4-6 people to ride around the Epcot resort area. Miniature golf is also right near by.

Oh, the things that I learn when I google -- spparently, Fort Wilderness has walking trails and a petting zoo! Plus, they have Chip n Dale hosting a campfire sing a long which is followed by a free movie.

I think most of the resorts have a hidden mickey list you can get from the front desk.

The WL and the AKL have lodge tours through out the day for free.

The electrical water pageant is held nightly on Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon.

The campground has the campire singalong and movie. Most of the deluxe resorts have some type of outside movie as well. Not sure about the others.

Those are just a few off the top of my head.

we missed doing this on our last visit....we love to visit some of the other resorts, wander the grounds, check out the little stores and lobbies....maybe get some snacks,etc.-FW has so many walking trails, you could wander for hours to get some 'real Florida feel'-which we enjoy doing...
there's a lot to be said for hanging by the pool with a good book and a great drink!:cool1:

We enjoyed the wagon ride at Fort Wilderness on our last trip. There is alot to do there, you could easily spend a few hours.

Poly has a fire dancer that does a lighting ceremony in the evening. It is very short show but fun.

Fort Wilderness has a campfire and a movie that is free.

There are carriage rides at PO, but they are pretty expensive. We stayed at PO FQ last year, and were planning to do the carriage ride but opted out due to the price. I don't recall the price expect that it was more than I was willing to pay.

It is fun to take the boat from the MK to Wilderness Lodge, Ford Wilderness, and the Contemporary. It is just a boat ride, but it takes a while to go to all three. The ride is free. You can also look around those resorts.
