Can anyone reccomend a fun restaurant near All-Stars for our first night? My husband and I will arrive the Saturday before Thanksgiving with our two kids, ages 11 and 8.

Since we are on the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board I assume you are looking for something outside of WDW, but I hope you won't mind if I make a Disney suggestion? I'd recommend Chef Mickey's over at the Contemporary; just a MK bus ride away from the All-Star Resorts, so long as the park is open. IMHO, it's far, far superior to anything outside the "world" for a fun eatery.

DC 7800, when I first posted, I was thinking of something outside of Disney World. On our first trip in 2000, we went to Chef Mickey's our first night and the kids loved it. I was worried that maybe a second trip to Chef Mickey's wouldn't be as magical as the first, and that maybe the kids had outgrown character meals. However, I read your post and thought, "DC 7800 is right, there can't possibly be a restaurant more fun than Chef Mickey's." Out of the blue, on our way home from church today, my 11-year-old son, who I thought was too old for the characters, asked if we could "eat at the place where we met Mickey Mouse." Needless to say, we will be at Chef Mickey's on the first night of our trip. Thanks!
