My girlfriend and her family are leaving this week (Thanksgiving ) for WDW for a few days. They're staying at POR. She was wondering about what her and her family could do if the parks are too overwhelming. I gave her a couple of ideas: Go to DTD; go to FW campgrounds to see the petting farm/draft horses, etc; view animals at AKL; do some phot-ops at the value resorts; do the pool/bike and boat rentals at POR.
Are there any other ideas? Please let me know ASAP (she leaves late tomorrow night!), so that I can share them with her.
Thanks all!:disrocks:

We've always enjoyed visiting other resorts, just to see what they're like. Wilderness Lodge is fun to walk around even if you're not staying there. I think they even have a little guide to the hotel and maybe a hidden mickey search or something. If they are in the Magic Kingdom resort area in the evening they could watch the water pagent. Hope they have fun!

They could ride the monorail and get off at the resorts along the way to check out the holiday decorations. Also the Boardwalk area is a fun place to visit!:thumbsup2

One of my favorite things to do on property but not in the parks is to just hang out at Boardwalk. Rent a bike and ride it around, or walk around. There's not a whole lot going on there during the day, so if they're looking to get away from the crowds but still have the Disney magic in the air, that's a good place to hang out.
