Fun idea! Inspired by ORANGE CAT

My DD has so many stuffed animals, some of them are in the toy box, with no hope of ever being brought out into daylight.

What if we adopt one of them? A true DIS mascot. I can send it out to someone, they can keep it awhile, take it on a trip, show it around their town, ect. Then who ever has it, can put something on it to show where it has been. A Disney pin, a t-shirt, ect. PICTURES. We can take pictures of the little guy and his adventures. The person I send it to would then send it off to someone else, for a new adventure.

It reminds me of the Pink Flamingo that was stolen off of someone's front lawn. It was missing for about 10 days, when the family discovered it back where it belonged, with an envelope full of pictures. The person who stole it went on ana adventure with the Flamingo, and took pictures. It was hysterical! (not sure if the family was still upset at the theft, but it sure was funny)

Anyone interested? I am reading about ORANGE CAT and think it would be cool to send him around, but ORANGE CAT needs to stay the official re-gift mascot, for someone to enjoy next year.

Oh, we should mail him off random. So if you are on the list, you won't know your getting him, until he arrives!

Wellll...somewhere out there is about 3-4 Disney beanies that went on trips a few years
ago. They only made it a couple of places and then seemed to disappear.
I wonder where they are?

I agree the stuffed animal probably wouldn't get very far....

But I think it's a fun idea for an individual. Once when DH and I went to Epcot in the mid- 90s, we saw a solo guy having his picture taken with a stuffed animal (at one of those make-your-own email postcard places).

A friend and I took a Winnie the Pooh beanie baby to France with us several years ago. We documented the trip with Winnie in quite a few pics starting with a pilot and a stewardess on our plane. We didn't ask them to have their pic made with Winnie, they volunteered.

Winnie also got his pic on the Eifel Tower, next to a gargoyle on top of the Notre Dame, next to the Venus de Milo at the Louvre, at Disneyland Paris, and many other wonderful sites. Needless to say, everyone really enjoyed the pics.

IMO, if you are going to do this, have some type of small stuffed doll that can be easily packed. I don't know of too many people that would want to lug around something big.

Have fun with this. If the doll in question is not big, I might volunteer to take it on my next trip to Europe this summer.

I hosted Gallivant, a traveling bear that was auctioned off for charity. It was really cool and he traveled many places.

I would love to do this again!

My mom sent two stuffed animals to me one Christmas because she couldn't come that year. The note sent with them told me to celebrate with them and then send them back to her. Of course, we took them to Disney and took pictures. My mom thought I was nuts - but I reminded her it was HER idea!!! She just never thought I'd leave the house with them!

I think it's a fun idea.
