My adult children brought a game called Monikers home for Thanksgiving. We had a really fun time with that one even though I at first thought that I wasn't going to like it. It's played by two teams, so you need at least 4, but I think it's better with more. We had 6 or 7 when we played. With the odd number, we just agreed to allow one team an extra. There are cards with people/things and their descriptions. Each person who is playing is dealt a number of cards that they get to look through and choose the ones that they want to play (I can't remember exact numbers. I think we discarded 3 or 4 from what we were dealt.) Then all the chosen cards are shuffled back together. The teams alternately get 60 seconds to win cards by having teammates guess what is on the card until all the cards have been collected. The game is played in three rounds. First round: you can say anything other than the actual answer to get your team to guess. Second round: you can use only a single word. Third round: charades. The same cards are used for all three rounds, so while using a single word is still difficult, it's not as bad as it sounds because you've already heard the words once. (So, pay attention even when the other team is guessing.)
My only words of warning are that some cards are mildly inappropriate, and many people/things are very pop culture/internet meme. There were some that I had no idea what they meant and others that I've heard of but didn't really know well. I still was able to play and have fun, though. Some examples that I can remember: Grape Stomp Lady, Nyan Cat, Double Rainbow Guy.
