Virgin America will be starting new daily nonstop flights between Orlando International Airport and both Los Angeles International Airport and San Francisco International Airport on Aug. 19.

The expansion is part of the San Francisco-based company’s growth plans for 2010, with six additional aircraft entering its fleet this year and three additional aircraft scheduled for the first quarter of 2011, said a Virgin America release. By this time next year, the airline’s fleet will have grown by almost one-third.

Virgin America also said it plans to announce at least three more new destinations in 2010.

Launched in August 2007, Virgin America currently employs more than 1,500 people. Virgin America is a U.S.-controlled, -owned and -operated airline and an entirely separate company from Virgin Atlantic.
