Fun Dining for Boys?

So I'm looking for some fun dining ideas for little boys in Disney World? Thanks to some previous advice, we already have a Tusker House Breakfast, and a Whispering Canyon and OHana Dinner planned. The Fireworks cruises are a little too expensive...MNSSHP is also a possibility, but I was wondering if you guys knew of anything else fun and interesting? The boys will be 10, 5, and 2 at the time of our trip and we'll be there for a week!

My DS was 8 last year and we did the Ohana b-fast with Lilo & Stich which he loved - it is on his must do this year. Stich was one of my favs the whole trip

My boys were 9 and 7 last year. They loved chef mickey's. We did O'Hana for breakfast. We are going back this year and doing these again. My boys also loved the Hoopdydoo revue. This year my husband is going to take the boys to the garden grill to see chip and dale while my daughter and I do a princess dinner. Some people will say to take boys to princess dinners but my boys really did not enjoy the one we did. We are going to go to ohanas for dinner too. We are also planning on doing the halloween party again. It was a lot of fun. This is not dining but all my kids really enjoyed Jedi training.

I would suggest Crystal Palace. Pooh and Tigger are fun. It is nice because there is the option for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

The 5 and 10 year olds could do a pirate cruise. It is for kids only. My DS8 and DD6 are going to try it for the first time this year.

The boys would enjoy the Hoop Dee Do Review if the budget allows. Only book IF u can get early dinner. The last one is too late for little ones. Boys would love SCI Fi and T-REX also.

DS liked the pirate tutorial (again, not a meal, but fun for boys).

His favorite character meals involved Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Chip and Dale. It really didn't matter which meal we saw them at as long as the interaction was good. He also liked Pizza Planet in DHS although it's nothing like in the movie. It's just pizza with some video games.

We always have a few princess events for dd which lead to the best ds quote from our last trip. About halfway through the princess dinner in Norway (that he was not thrilled about before) he looked at DH with a big grin on his face and announced "I looove huging princesses!"

My boys were 4 & 7 the last trip. They enjoyed Stitch at Ohanas. Though character interactions were very quick.

The characters at Cape May were wonderful with lots of interactions with the kids because of the lighter crowd. I have my best photos from the trip from that morning. Each character came back 3-4xs.

Rainforest always scares my boys (thunderstorms) and t-rex did not scare them at all (meteor shower not as dark).

Scifi was cool. My 7 yr old was a little freaked out by the horror movie stuff and we will skip it next time.

Hurricane Hannahs was a big hit at the Beach Club because lunch came in a bucket with shovel they could then use on the beach. You do not have to stay at the beach club to eat there and it is a quick walk from Epcot.

My husband is pushing to try pizza planet again because the boys are big toy story fans, not to mention the arcade games. I remember the food being just OK but it has been a while.

My DS7 wants to eat at Chef Mickey's. We ate there on the last trip and it was his favorite, he loves mickey. He is excited about Crystal Palace and Tusker House Breakfast, which are new for us. He hates Stitch now due to him spitting in his face on the ride. Toy Story 3 is comming out, if they only had Toy Story Dining......... He also also requested to eat at Pizza Planet at HS. We do princess meals too since I have a DD5. 1900 Park Fare was also fun with the stepsisters, cinderella and prince charming. Have fun!

Hi! I have 3 boys, DS11, DS4 and DS2. They love T-Rex at Downtown Disney, very loud and noisy, robotic/mechanical dinosaurs (Rainforest Cafe with Dinos). This is the only place they requested to eat on the next trip. The food is good and the portions are large.

T-Rex is not on the dining plan, but I was able to charge the meal back to our room and use my DVisa reward points to pay the bill. Last time we had 3 adults and 3 kids and our total bill with tip was $129. The portions are so large that your boys may even be able to share.

I had a sampler platter (yummy-and huge), Sis had chicken salad and said it was very good, and DH enjoyed his philly cheese steak sandwich. The boys had mini cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets. They also have the glow stick drinks here-they are a little pricey.

The boys walked around the restaurant while we waited for our food and got lots of great pics. We went at lunch time, we had a ressie, but it wasn't crowded.

We are going for DS11 and DS4's B-Day this year (they have the same B-Day), they asked for T-Rex instead of a B-Day party.

When you have all boys it's nice to have a place that's really geared towards them, the princess dining is nice for the girls, but T-Rex is a little on the rough side and they enjoy that.

Un oh. Could someone please explain the horror movies at Sci-Fi? We were planning to go here but I have to really, really monitor what one of my kids watches on tv. None of us will have a decent nights rest for 2 weeks if he sees a horror movie. Please tell me it's just mild. He can handle mild but not much more. He's a fraidy cat but I love him, lol.

You have some great suggestions for food, and I would second most of them. I do want to bring more attention to Elizabeth's mention of the Pirate Cruises...not a meal but lots of fun for boys (and girls) and, since it's kids only, a couple hours of alone time for the grown-ups. They start in the morning, so you still have time for an almost full day at a park afterward. My kids, 9 and 6, did the cruise out of POR in Feb and loved it. I have heard the one out of BC is the best because the kids get to "sneak" into Epcot looking for clues on their treasure hunt.

Re: the "horror" movies...I haven't been there is a couple years, but I remember black & white B-type movie clips (Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, King Kong (original version), etc. More "cheesy" than scary---no "blood & guts" stuff at all. I remember the food being OK, but because you're sitting in "cars", with a front and back seat, ala a drive-in movie, it is almost impossible to carry on a comfortable conversation (I suppose the whole idea is to watch the movie, right?

My sons (7&9) love Garden Grill @ EPCOT, one of their must-do meals. We did TRex last year and my guys had a blast. As mentioned by a PP, not on DDP, but pretty reasonable. Food was good and portions large. We also always take an evening to explore DAKL and dine @ Boma, another one of our must-do events.

For some reason the clips freaked my kids out last trip (they were 6 1/2) after eating there the 2 previous trips..IDK why They watch Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc etc without blinking an eye. But-they also don't like Snow White's Scary Adventure-but love Rock n Roller Coaster, Space Mountain, and so on. Who can figure 'em out??

We are trying 50's Prime Time this year, so that may be a contender. We haven't been to Coral Reef-but I know the boys would love that!

Thanks for the great advice everyone! I'm thinking T-Rex is a definite must do...I will also look into this pirate cruise that was mentioned. I also just remembered the "kitchen sink" at Beaches and Cream! I can't wait to see their faces when I order that for the boys! (They are our nephews and we LOVE to spoil them!)

Some people think that I'm a dork for saying this, but here's our experience:

The 1900 Park Fare dinner with Cinderella, Prince Charming, Step Mother and Step Sisters is awesome for boys.

My DS10 (see sig photo) always has a ball at 1900 Park Fare. He talks sword fighting and horse back riding with Charming, he talks marriage with Step Mother, and how beautiful the other ladies are. He's been invited to dance with Cinderella and Drizzela before and left with lipstick smootches all over his face. It is always a riot.

I know that it's not ideal, I wish there were a Toy Story meal or whatever; but you have to play the hand you've been dealt.

And also, the meal is fabulous at 1900 Park Fare.

Many good places mentioned already. I think ESPN Club at the boardwalk would be a good choice, although the 2 year old may be a little too young to understand it.

Another vote for Sci Fi. My boys loved it, 9 & 12. I don't recall horror movies but then again there isn't much that scares them. Well, maybe Titanic.

Another vote for Garden Grill. Our three boys (pre-school to pre-teens) love Garden Grill - it's their favorite WDW restaurant. Good food, outstanding character interaction - Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. And we love the semi-circle booths on the lower level. And it's great for two year olds - at that age, our boys were all entertained by the characters, and the service is quick for little ones!

Their second favorite is Liberty Tree, but not as much since the characters left.

They also love Pizza Planet, but I can't say much for the food there.

P.S. Yay for all the posters wishing for a Toy Story character meal!!!! That would be such a huge hit with our family, I can't even imagine! I don't think our youngest would eat a thing, he would be so excited!
