Fun Conversations- White Card Members Only

It's funny how some people never read a thread to see what it's about. There wasn't supposed to be anything serious in here at all, yet bet me money that somebody gets offended. And soon. Simply because they interjected their two cents and never bothered to even see what the thread they were interjecting themselves into was all about. Bet me.

Ha I built this to be a safe place for us that don't play well in safe places lol

Where's those scissors I saw lying here somewhere? I'm gonna grab 'em and run around in here if this gets any more serious.

::::: kicking trash for fun till I spot them scissors :::::

WHAT WOULD YOU DO. Since I’ve bought resale, my mobile checkouts either auto apply the discount or it usually goes like this…

CM: “Do you have any dvc or AP discounts?”
Me: “Well no- I am dvc, but I’ve only got a white card.”
CM: “Ok well do you have anything that shows you’re dvc?”
Me: “Yeah a white card.”
CM: “alright. Can I see it?”
Me: (what okay, fumbles around to login, shows white card. I’m so nervous. Are they about to shame me in front of all these folks for my resale purchase… MAAM! YOU KNOW BETTER, NO DISCOUNT FOR YOU or could it be a trick to see how truly committed I am to being a white card who has NO discounts. Do they expect me to inform them of the policies to which they are unaware? I secretly hope the CM says “No you don’t qualify” bc why are they trying to make me say it?! This pressure is too much, why are they putting me on the spot when I SAID I’m a white card. Don’t they know the difference.)
CM: “Okay great let me just add your discount.” Bee-bope-beep. Presses buttons. Discount applied.
Me: “Umm thanks?” (Or did I just fail the test of true white card status?)

I say take the discount. Disney will make the sale along with every other business everytime. It's an incentive to shop. They don't care about the games that DVC plays to build value for direct card members. They don't care what color you have in your pocket. They care about sales and you just gave one. I believe no store will ever care for anything more than proof of membership and maybe only Disney store locations will begin to check more intently but currently the systems and effort is not there to enforce the discount.

Hypothetical: If I buy from Disney at the yet-to-be-sold Disneyland DVC tower would I then be considered a Blue Card Brahmin in WDW, or would I still be a WC Hobo since at WDW I’d always be staying on resale points?

My understanding is you need to "accumulate" 150 total direct points for blue card, so if you purchase 150 or more, then yes you would instantly experience nirvana and achieve self actualization. Just don't forget your roots and all of us little people when you become very important and special. It doesn't matter what resort you buy the points for as long as it is part of DVC and sold by DVD.

Disney is easy to please. Give them enough of your money directly, and they'll give you the fabled blue card and its piddly discounts. Then you can feel like you have status that actually is meaningless to everybody not a DVC member.

You'd have to prove your white card fealty endlessly to this crew. :worship:

Ya sure you're tough enough?

I want to buy Grand Floridian direct to get my points fast. I also want to retain my white card status. I will buy 149 point direct.
And you can really give Disney what for by using flagship points solely for SAP.

That'll show 'em. Mwa-ha-ha-ha.

I’m looking forward to it 🤣

Due to CMs not following instructions on giving discounts and the fact that IT cannot currently prohibit white card holders from receiving dining discounts on mobile orders, the theme parks are now closed to white card holders indefinitely! 😯

Quick, Bob aka wnielsen1! have a few slugs from this bottle of Behave Like a Real Human.

Your alien nature has risen to the forefront again, you poor thing.

You've never made an ADR because dinner at 50s Prime Time is way too fancy, and your firstborn got started in the backseat at a drive-in theater--yup, might have a white card.

If your DVC arrival routine includes a Publix order comprised entirely of Hot Pockets and Frito Pie ingredients, you might be a White Card holder.

I love hot pockets, with Doritos though.

And you got it wrong on one detail that makes me wonder are even you a white card and if you aren’t - why are you here. No sir we cannot afford Publix delivery! I literally pack my snacks from home and hit the dollar general on the way baby.
