We have less than 3 weeks until our trip and I decided to hit the dollar store to see if I could find the remaining items on my packing list.

I had already purchased a $1 pop-up laundry hamper. Today, I think I got the last $1 shower curtain. I'm planning to hang it (with the 3M sticky hooks that won't damage the wall) in the sink area of our room at Pop so we can have a private dressing area. I also got a $1 over-the-door shoe holder to hang on our bathroom door to hold all of our toiletries. Finally, I found several sheets of Christmas window clings. I am going to put some on our window at Pop to make things look festive!

I also picked up a pack of toothbrushes (5 for $1) with little caps to put over the tops for travel. Plus, I got some liquid hand soap. I don't like washing my hands with those little bars of soap and wanted some decent soap for our room. I almost have everything I need! Just wanted to share with those who are still needing ideas! :)

The Dollar stores are also good for getting glow bracelets and necklaces for the kids- we got extras last year, and DD enjoyed handing them out to other kids waiting for the fireworks. We got rain ponchos and cheap folding umbrellas too. DD got some markers, activity books, and note pads for the car ride as well.

Yes - I forgot about the glow bracelets. I got some at Halloween that we'll be taking with us. I already have my cheap ponchos, but I did see some today that were 3 for $1! What a deal!

Yesterday my mom and I went to dollar tree..this dollar store was the best we had ever seen. We bought a lot including disney phonics book grades K-3...math and money book...k-3....alphabet and begging reading...k-3 all of these were disney themed. We also bought these cards that were winnie the pooh...you solve the puzzle on the front, place the two cards that go together next to each other and then turn them over if there is a pix. you answer was right. There were also these fun stampers...I myself still like the princesses so she got my princess stamps, and my bro cars stamps. She also bought a 4 pack of crayons, these come in pooh or cars...and a little snow white doll..there was also jaimine and ariel. We bought a ton of glow neclaces and a few extra for kids around us..we also bought disney letter stickers...they have the alphabet and then a charcter on them. My mom made flight bags to keep me and my bro occupyied with the stuff and some of the stuff from the target dollar section.

LOVE the pop-up hamper!!!! We bought one at WalMart last Fall for our Dec trip and loved it so much that we went back and bought another when we got home. Next Fall, we'll be in a 2 bedroom with my in-laws so we'll bring both; one for them, one for us!

Good thing you won't be at POP at the same time as us...you might wander into our room and think it's yours. :rotfl2: I bought all the same stuff at the $1 store , including those toothbrushes.

I found a pop-up hamper several weeks ago at Dollar Tree. When I went last week, they didn't have any. I think it depends on what they get in. I seem to see different items on every visit. If you keep trying, you might eventually hit on a time when they have some. If you want to pay more than $1, you can get the folding hampers at Target too.

Whenever I find Disney items at the different dollar stores I will pick them up and store them in a tub in the closet. When my grandkids take a trip or need a "pick me up" I will grab stuff out of the tub. Enjoy

Just a heads up from another fan of Dollar Tree~ I got the gallon size zips with the slide closure, and everyone has ripped at the zip by the 2nd time I slid the zip open/ shut.
Other than that, Ive picked up a pack of toothbrushes
some liquid soap for our hands
a small bottle of laundry soap
a box of dryer sheets
a container of awesome- oxygen laundry stuff to add to the wash (think oxy-clean)
a box of trash bagsand
a pack of mesh scrubbies for the shower
there is more, but I can't remember...
:confused3

oh, the sweetness! i have my mom and sister hooked on "awesome" too.
it's so, well, AWESOME!!!!!! :rotfl2:

i'm heading off to dollar tree this afternoon.....to grab the last few things for our trip too.

everyone have great trips!!!!!! :wizard:

I have several dollar store/ dollar tree stores to go to in my area. Sometimes I hit like five in one day. You will be surpised in the difference in each store. I would forget an item & go to the next store & they don't even know what I'm talking about :confused3 .

I maybe hitting a few this week-end for my December 20th tripto Disney

One other thing I buy at the dollar store along with all the previously metioned things is the individually wrapped wet wipes - I can just put one or two in my pocket in the morning before we leave the resort. They come in handy to wipe sticky hands or whatever during the day. :goodvibes
