Fulton's - Yes or No?

I've read a lot of conflicting reports about Fulton's - loved it/hated it type. I think my son would enjoy eating on a "riverboat", but I'm nervous from a lot of the negatives I've read about the restaurant. My husband and I ate there when it was Empress Lilly many years ago. I'm also wondering if the decor is still the same.

So - good or bad? What's your opinion?

Thanks!

Laurie

I would have to say yes! We have a family tradition of always eating at Fulton's on our day of arrival. We have never had a bad experience. The food has always been wonderful. We have eaten inside many times including the constellation room. Our best experience was when we ate outside. We had a wonderful waiter who brought our boys (age 7 and 5 at the time) some extra bread to feed to the ducks and fish. They were thrilled. We loved the lobster, the dungeness crab, the bisque, and the appetizers are quite tasty. Our boys would be so upset if we didn't eat here on our next trip. It is always one of the first things they ask about when we are planning our trip. Hope this helps.

We went for dinner on our last trip. DH & I and 3 yr old DD shared the seafood platter. We asked to substitute corn on the cob for some item we didn't particularly like. No problem! The service was great! The platter was kind of expensive but we all 3 got plenty to eat so that made it quite affordable. We loved it so much that we went back for lunch later in the same trip. It happened to be a day when it was pouring rain. The food was delicious. We had clam chowder and the wonderful bread. We didn't relish the thought of walking out in the rain and our waiter was most accomodating. Let us stay at a window table watching the rain. It is a golden memory for us!! We will definitely go back on our next trip!!

We love Fultons! We are seafood lovers and Fultons is tops. My boys love this place. We don't always get to go as it is expensive and we drop alot of dough when we go.
:)

Well--Fultons looks a little like a real riverboat, but you won't confuse it with the Empress Lilly that you remember.
When we ate there, we had the distinct feeling of being in an overpriced seafood restaurant with condescending and indifferent service.
It's on my list of "never go back unless under extreme duress" restaurants.
Meaning somebody else is paying--.

My husband and I ate there last October.... and I really think Uncle Romulus quote fits best with our experience also. There were only the 2 of us, and we were seated next to a large table of 8. The server spent all his time and attention to the large table, mostly ignoring us the whole time. He shared personal stories with that table, and was very attentive, on the other hand, we couldn't even get our tea refilled. We have no plans on returning.

We've eaten there a few times, not for a couple years now though, and have service that ran from excellent to so-so. Food was always good, although I agree, overpriced.

Would I go again, sure, someday. But it hasn't ended up on our short list for awhile now.

We've been there a few times and have always had great food and service. But that being said I do think it's overpriced. But we're also going back in a couple of weeks. It just depends, I know a lot of people like Portobello a lot but we had a bad experience there and it made my don't go back to list.

Here's another NO! Wheb it was Empress Lilly's it was fantastc, bur Fultons leaves a lot to be deired. Being from New England and being use to some of the best seafood around, Fulton's falls far short in their pricing and presentation., Service is iffy at best. There are so manny beter places at WDW to eat than waist your time and money here.

Prices are WAY too high for ME!

So is every meal I eat in WDW. I mean after all I can get better foodat home for 1/3-1/2 the price of most WDW restaurants.

Anyway. Compared to the overall prices to eat in WDW I find the prices at Fultons very comparable.

We've eaten there 2X and the food has been great both time.
The service the first time was good, but slow. I blame it on the kitchen, not our server. I also think they were short staffed that night. Second trip the service was excelent.

Yes or no... gosh that's tough.

I've eaten their twice-- both times for a quick crab and appetizers after Cirque du Soliel and thought it was pretty good. Prices are a little high, I will say that.

My main problem with endorsing it wholeheartedly is two-fold. One, there is better seafood to be had in the world. Flying Fish, Narcoossees, Artist Point salmon, etc, etc, etc. Secondly, I think there is better food to be had nearby. Portobello Yacht Club and Wolfgang Pucks are quite a bit better.

I know I probably didn't help you one bit... but best of luck with your decision.

won't go to Disney without eating at Fultons. We have had service anywhere from acceptable to ecellent. Food has always been very good. As long as you know it is on the pricey side, I think you will enjoy it.

I ate there when it was Empress Lilly's as well and it is totally different. But I would definitely go again. I don't notice the pricing as being so out of the ordinary from other Disney restaurants. And I loved Wolfgang Puck's and Flying Fish, but they were a little to gourmet for my husband's tastes. He seems to like Fulton's better because it is more familiar to him. I got the distinct feeling of being in a Maryland crabhouse restaurant at Fulton's which is a good feeling for me. I don't remember the dinner we had there a couple years ago so it must have been average. I don't remember being disappointed or impressed. We ate there at lunch once though and had their stone crab claws and drinks and I remember that being a wonderful experience. The food was great, the staff was very helpful since we wanted to sit outside, then changed our minds when the wind picked up a bit. Our server was so nice about it and just moved us in. So when we go again, it'll probably be betw. lunch and dinner for soup and appetizers.

DH & I ate there on our honeymoon last year. We didn't care about the prices as we were on the 3 a day meal plan. DH loves seafood and said Fulton's was his favorite meal on our honeymoon. I don't eat any seafood, but had a great filet mignon and enjoyed the meal.
My vote is a big ol' YES!!

We ate at Fulton's in July using the Silver Plan, so price wasn't a problem for us. The food was very good and the waiter very personable and attentive. Wait time between course was a little long. We would go back.

Put me down for a YES. I had the Alaskan crab claws and Australian lobster tails and they were excellent. We had a party of eight and got excellent service. I did not pay, so no problem  Entrees were about $40, which can be pricey depending on what you are used to.

If you like it you can join the Landry frequent diner club and get discounts for money you spend at all their restaurants. I seem to remember that you also get 10% off with an AP, at least for lunch.

Thanks all for the replies!

We will probably go since to a 7 year old it looks like a real riverboat. I checked out the menu and would probably be happy just with the crab leg appetizers! Even though I live in Maine and am surrounded by seafood, good crab is not always found around here.

Thanks again.

While we've never had a bad meal at Fulton's and I don't think the prices are out of line, I must agree that there are better places for seafood (Narcoossee's, Coral reef, Flying Fish). It's a nice place for lunch, though, if you don't have high service expectations. We've only had good service once, out of at least six visits. The worst time being when two servers got into a fight right in front of us and were yelling at each other rather loudly. We just had to laugh.:D

My DH and I ate at Fultons in September using the silver plan. It was a great experience with both the food and service. Unfortunately I don't think I would eat here without the silver plan. We didn't drink and the bill came out to $178!
