Paddlefish coming this fall
Paddlefish coming this fall
I believe long before my time it used to be like that to an extent before it became Fulton's. I think its a positive and be interested to hear how it isI'm actually pretty excited for this as I like the idea of there being different sections/menus to the place. And was a pretty significant change so a name change makes sense
If the food/drinks are good I could see the roof top lounge becoming pretty popular
The original was much like that and named Empress Lily after Walt's wife Lillian. I like it going back to a stern wheeler but would have preferred it getting the original or version of the original name.I believe long before my time it used to be like that to an extent before it became Fulton's. Who is Fultons owned by? Is it not owned and operated by Disney?I do have some insider on this...
A contact through work is doing part of the retrofit there. The owner was given non-negotiable requirements and themes for the redesign by the overlords. "You'll take it and like it"
They did...the place is a goldmine.
The same contact just started to work at wilderness lodge. Any guess what they are doing?
I knew months ago.
So nothing new with WL then. The WL DVC conversion has been talked about for well over a year your two favorites Spirit and Jim Hill were breaking those as news pieces.Fultons is third party run by Levy Restaurants.
The north/east wing of lodge is currently be gutted/retrofitted into "units"...
Just as we speculated several years ago. When rumors of 50% occupancy rates were whispered - it was obvious...
They priced out their rack. Now everybody's favorite condos take over. Inevitable when you think your value increased 10%+ each year. Human greedy nature.

Disney isn't going to say capacity is down so we're converting to DVC rooms! You and I both know that. Not earth shattering news...we assumed as much but I still don't remember announcements from the horse's mouth.
Jim hill is the other end of the horse.
I did hear 1's and 2's only...

DVC has said they are building the bungalows or cabins whatever they are calling them but hasn't been specfic on the conversion part though. It's been obvious though and multiple sources have said its happening.
The Empress of Lily existed when Disney really cared about their visitors. They wanted to create the ultimate experience for anybody who visited them. The restaurants and club area of the Empress were great areas to relax after a long day in the parks. Of course back then DTD was very small and intimate and actually relaxing instead of what it is today! The Empress Lily actually had three restaurants. It included a steakhouse, a seafood restaurant and the fancier Empress Room. It also had a separate bar with entertainment where my DH and I enjoyed having a few drinks.
I think that the new name is a little odd but maybe there is a reason for it. I like having a bar to go to again.
