1) These are all owned by Levy Restaurant Group.
2) I keep hearing they will go DDP in 2012 for 2(TS).
3) They have always been on Premium and Platinum.
4) But not DDP or DxDP.

5) I haven't heard this, so does anyone have definitive info?

They are all now listed on the 2012 Brochure, even the one on the Disney site itself.

Why do you number all your posts??

They are all listed in the dining brochure and Portobella's is just 1 credit.

These are also being added for 2012:
Bistro de Paris (2TS)
Rainforest Cafe at AK and DD
TRex
Bongos Cuban Cafe
House of Blues
Paradiso 37

Wolfgang Puck Cafe has been DDP for some time. The others have not. We used to love WPC, but gave up on it a couple of years ago after the menu was dumbed down for DDP.

Now, all I can say is -- this is a huge disappointment that Fulton's and Portabello are going DDP for 2012. That means quality will take a nosedive and we will no longer be interested in patronizing those places.

As for Bistro -- our visit in November 2010 was our last -- it might as well already have been on DDP. The place was crawling with kids, the waiters were harried and the experience was miserable -- and most definitely not worth the $350 we paid for two with wine.

Soon, there will be no reason to stay on Disney property at all. We are down to Shula's, Blue Zoo and Il Mulino at this point. Not much choice for a 2-week stay!

I can see we will be driving over to Universal much more often -- and spending a good part of our vacation at Portofino Bay Hotel, while we enjoy meals at Emeril's, Bice, Mama Della's, Tchoup Chop, and the Palm.

There was a time in the late 90's when Disney really sought to provide a top notch dining and resort experience for adult travelers. Those days are clearly over.

My understanding is that it's upstairs at Wolfgang Puck's that has been added to the DDP. It was not previously on the DDP but the other two locations were. As for the quality taking a nosedive, only time will tell but I would hope that there would not be too many changes at the locations that will be 2 credits.

There have been far too many downgrades and changes at the signature restaurants to think it won't happen at the 2 TS restaurants at DTD! The writing is on the wall -- and has been for some time.

I guess this is because the average Disney guest wants cheap food of low quality -- and lots of it.

Reminds me of the old adage about mass market cruise ship dining -- the food was awful -- and the portions were too small.

Agreed. I'm especially disappointed about Portobello.

This. The cafe has been on the dining plan, but The Dining Room is a new addition. Since none of these are Disney run, maybe the DDP won't have as much of an impact as people think.

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt at this point. Fulton's has been on the plan before and pulled out. That indicates to me that they have standards that they are not willing to comprise just to be on the plan.

Man, now I really am going to have to upgrade to the DXDP. Too many new things to try and old favorites....:rotfl2:

When I was there in mid Sept, the waitress at House of Blues mentioned that they were going on the DDP starting in January. I asked her if she was sure and she told me the manager had had a meeting with all the employees to announce it. She said the manager told them all to get ready for a huge increase in business. She said they didn't really have a choice, as business was so slow for the restaurants that weren't taking it. She also told me they were changing the menu the week of Dec 4th. I told her I was going to be back down there Nov 26th-Dec 4th. so would just miss the new menu. She went to the back and came back with a bunch of pages clipped together that had descriptions and pictures of the new menu. It had not gone to press yet. She told me, to drop back in during my Nov/Dec trip and ask if the chefs had any specials for that day, because they were supposed to be trying them out a few weeks before, so the waiters could get used to doing the new spiels. I meant to, but never made it over there.
