Fultons on the DDP

Now that Fultons Crabhouse is on the dining plan does anyone else here anticipate seeing things like the giant crab claws going bye-bye and the out of this world milk chocolate creme brulee turn into chocolate pudding in a dixie cup? LOL

What are your concerns about Fultons and the other restaurants newly participating in the dining plans?

Dh and I were sooooo disappointed to see Fulton's joining DDP. Yep, we think it's the end of the things we love there -- stone crabs, crab cake and the amazing desserts -- we love the cherry cobbler and the key lime pie. Perhaps the stone crabs and crab cake will survive if they are called appetizers. But, alas, the desserts will be gone.

We have pretty much given up dining at restaurants that take DDP. Fulton's had been a refuge, as was Portofino. I predict both will now decline in choice and quality.

Desserts have been a particular problem at signature restaurants taking DDP. Because everybody gets a dessert, the desserts are small, uniform, boring, prepared in advance and off-the-shelf. I expect the desserts at Fulton's to follow suit. Also, since restaurants are discouraged from offering items not available to DDP users, the good stuff will either have to be deemed appetizers or removed from the menu.

Sigh.

I would bet they will have to change their menu up, even though they are charging two credits. We will have to wait and see what becomes of it.
