We visit WDW about twice a year but have never eaten at Fultons. Does anyone have any advice or recommenations??

The pound of crab claws are AWESOME!
My mouth is watering just thinking of them.

I was wondering the same thing. We were thinking about trying Fultons on our Dec trip.

Since you asked--
Food good, nice looking restaurant.
Service the absolute worst of any WDW restaurant.
Recomendation-go elsewhere if you are looking for seafood.

Fultons

We never go to WDW without going to Fultons. Love there lobster, service has been both excellent and just okay. Not bad, just not the attention I would expect at this type of resturant. It is very expensive, so keep that in mind. But we just love it there.

We go to Fulton’s every time in WDW..DH is picky too...he is a Chef..and is very critical....but we both love it. I love the King Crab legs...wonderful. He usually gets the Tuna. Said it was the best he has had at WDW. As far as service goes we usually go early 5-6:00pm and have only had one problem..and that was while using the silver plan (it was called something different then) the waiter did give us a hard time about using it...which I did not appreciate. We actually had to get the manager in order to prove we could pay for our meal using it...the waiter just flat out told us it wasn't accepted..we had to ASK for the manager. I couldn't understand this because with the plan you are guaranteed your tip...and with DH being in the food industry he usually gives much more...but this guy was so mean about it we didn't. That being said...does get packed so if you went later I could see you not getting exceptional service. Everyone has different experiences...I'd say give it a try!

Actually, we went at 5:30 and/or 6:00 each of the times we ate there. I did a post some time ago about our 4 dinners we had there, called "Fulton's-what exactly is bad service?", in which I detailed the awful service we got from the podium greeters, from the servers, right on down to the buss staff!!
But you are quite right-everyone has different experiences and many rave about Fulton's service.

We've eaten there 2X and the only problem we had was slow service the first time. However they were packed and clearly understaffed. The second time my sister thought we had a problem right off the bat. Really it's pretty funny. The tables are covered in paper and the kids are given crayons and told they can draw on the table. Well my sister didn't see the paper and the table and didn't clearly hear what the host said when he seated us. She thought he said "don't let the kids draw on the table". As soon as he left she starts fuming and looking asking for a manager. Non of us could figure out what was going on (I though maybe he made a pass at her or something). anyway once someone gets over to the table (our server I think) and she starts explaining the problem, the rest of us are like "what are you talking about".

Back to OP..... We really enjoy the food. I've had the rock shrimp pasta and the crab cakes. Both are wonderful (sorry Uncleromulus, but some people do love the their crab cakes
;) ). My sister said her salmon was the best she ever had. IT really made me wish I had ordered it. My mother's fried rock shrimp was good and she had a huge portion. DH likes their grilled shrimp and rice. He was a little disappointed in it the last time. The shrimp was still good but the rice portion was much smaller, and the asparagus was very wilted.

Agree with Uncleromulus - service was bad, food was mediocre and very expensive. Service was so bad the day we dined (about 5:30 - 6pm) that even though we wanted to get up and leave we had two hungry kids with us, but the table of 10 beside us got their drinks - waited about 1/2 hr for their appitizers, then left! It wasn't that it was really busy (the restaurant was only 1/2 full) it just the wait staff stood around gossiping the whole time (we were seated next to the wait station) and when a guest would try to get their attention, they would give you that "excuse me you are bothing me.....what is it that you want now" look. Yikes! Bad Management, I guess.
IMHO - if you are going to pay big $$$ to dine at Fultons, you should get the service to go with it.

Wow! I guess a lot have had bad service. I guess we have been lucky. We are going our first day in the world after Cirque on 10/24..in fact much later than usual....probably after 8:00...I'll have to let you all know. I just hope I'm not LOOKING for a problem now!

We have been to Fulton's several times and get the snow crab or the king crab (depending on how many souveneirs I buy). Normally, the service has been very good, once a little slow, but nothing terrible. I would definitely recommend Fulton's for crab lovers. The food is extremely fresh (they display the air bills from the daily shipment at the front of the restaurant). It is a bit on the pricey side, but, IMO, very well worth it.

You know it kills me to read those who complain about the prices at Fultons. You are at WDW after all. I mean these same people don't complain about paying 21.99 for a buffet that is much worse than the 6.99 buffet at golden coral.

We tried it for the first time in May (for lunch). Food was OK, service was OK. It was very quiet - I imagine the atmosphere is better during the evening. I won't be rushing back, but I'm glad we tried it.

We both love Fultons. I have never had bad service they are somewhat slow. I can see someone getting aggrevated if they have kids with them. We know they just want to get their food. I prefer to eat slow, I like to have time between courses but if you are in a rush just want to eat and get out this is not the place for you. A lot of people want to finish one course and immediately have the next on the table, not for me. I've enjoyed every meal I've had there especially those king crab legs!!

Thanks for all the great replies. I sort of expected a mixed review as that is what I had heard previously, but it's great to hear from all of you that have experienced it first hand. As a land locked lover of seafood I think we'll give it a try.

We absolutley loved fulton's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were on the gold plan on our last visit and tried alot of great restaraunts. Fulton's was in the top 3.
We had great service and great food. Some people think the service may be slow, but I thought it was just right. I hate to be hurried through my meal. If you have kid that could get antsy ...then I would avoid fulton's.
I highly reccomend the crab claws, king crab legs and ........must try the lobster bisque. It is heavenly !!!!
It might seem expensive...but once you see the quantity and quality of food....you won't think so.
We were planning on doing a little more of a budget trip this time ...as far as meals....but dbf just informed me we must do Fulton's again this time.....believe me ...I'm not arguing.
If you're worried about it being crowded....try it for lunch...we had no wait when we went in March.

I personally refuse to eat at this restaurant as I consider this part of the de-Walt-ification of WDW, and I love seafood. The sign "Empress Lilly, Port of Lake Buena Vista" should never have been allowed to come down, EVER! This structure was built as a tribute to Lillian Disney, the woman behind the man and the Empress Lilly was christened by Lillian Disney.

I know there've been many changes to WDW over the years, some good some bad. Eventually I "get over" any problems I have with most of the changes, but this one is a disgrace. Michael Eisner at his cold-hearted worst.

Couldn't agree more with this! I don't mind for a second spending money here. I did not, however, know about the Empress Lily background. What a shame that they took the name away. I know that the restaurant chain that owns these (Fulton's and others) places want the billing, but couldn't they have compromised? Jeez...

We went to Fulton's for the first time last December. I ordered the twin lobsters and while they were good, they were a little over cooked to my taste. They tasted like many restaurants I've been to where they partially pre-cook them and finish them off when ordered.

My sister and friend both ordered the Cioppino which when we go back I would order. Neither of us are mussel fans so they substituted more shrimp and crab. It was to die for!!!!!!! It was also huge!!! 3 people could have eaten one serving and left the table full.

Our service was excellent. Paced just right. Not rushed. Very knowledgeable and helpful

We will go back.
