full size car vs. Jeep cherokee which bigger?

I have a reservation at National for a full size car using EA and one at Dollar for 50% off the Jeep cherokee. My question is the sizes: we will have three adults and two booster seats...that is a total of five. Not worrying about luggage because we are not taking that much. Which do you think we would fit in better...wish i could find a cheap mini-van rate!

My vote is definately the jeep or in my case, they gave me a durango

Another vote for the Jeep... National considers Buick Regals as well as Grand Prixs and Dodge Intrepids as Full Size vehicles. We had a Buick Regal one year when we rented from National and I thought it was rather cramped. The next year we had the intrepid, what a difference.. I have never rented a Jeep but it just seems that they have more cabin space than say a Buick Regal.

With your group, you'd probably be better off with the Jeep.

I had both vehicles reserved but cancelled the Jeep Grand Cherokee at Dollar for several reasons.

-- rate on National full size dropped $21. Instead of being $12 cheaper it is now $33 cheaper.

-- we only have four (2A 2C), and our luggage is going to the airport in an Accord, so we will fit in any fullsize just fine.

-- With National EA I know I won't have any counter hassles, and as we arrive at 10:35 there should be plenty of cars to choose from.

-- I'm not really that excited about SUV's. And Consumer Reports rates the Jeep dead last among fullsize SUVs. Now if they were offering an RX300, or a Lincoln Navigator...
