DH and I (no kids) did Dine With Shamu yesterday, and I just posted my full report. Click here to read all about it, including photos. We did the 6 p.m. dinner, which was nice after a long, long day at the park (we arrived at opening). Food much better than expected, and we lucked into a perfect table, right across the rope fence from one of the spots where a trainer sits with a whale. The report has more details, but overall I most definitely recommend it. Kinda pricey, but I felt like we got what we paid for.

It sounds as if your exp was much better than ours!! We did ours on Christmas Day. The trainer talked A LOT and the whale did very few tricks. They were also on the other side of the pool close to that big screen so we didn't get anywhere close to the whale! Plus at the end they showed this long and boring documentary about the making of believe. After this we expected to get out picture. After 15 minutes they still cound not find it so they said we had to get it at the front of the park photo booth. I did this show a few years ago in Texas and loved it as we got really close to the whale and the trainers came to each table and answered question. They didn't do that in FL even though the website said they would. The exp in FL was horrible! I was so disappointed as I had talked it up to DH and he had seen my pics. We were both disgusted at the price for what we got! Go at your own risk!

Wow, our experience was totally different! No documentary at all. We just watched the actual Believe show on the screens, then the trainers went to different areas of the pool, each with a whale, and had the whales perform tricks and did feedings with them. The only part that disappointed me a bit was that we didn't get to talk to the trainers. They just handled the whales and then left.

We got our photo very promptly, and after the whale show there was a recording on the PA basically saying, "Time to get out now!" (not that it made anyone hurry). Even though they played the recording, we didn't really feel rushed. When we were leaving, our server even offered us a Bud for the road but we didn't take it because the park was closed so we'd be leaving immediately and you can't take it out of the park.

I think part of our good experience was lucking into such a great table too. While we were waiting in the buffet line, someone even tried to take it! We rushed over to point out it was our assigned table (our napkins and silverware were already spread out) and they argued some but finally went away. I didn't realize that you had to guard the prime tables, even when they assigned!
