Full hook up after Premium

Our last trip to the fort was in May and we stayed in a Premium site (in the 1400 loop, I believe).

I've booked a full hook up site for our upcoming trip the end of the month. I was able to get an AP discount Only could get the discount on the full hook up sites when I booked.

Now I see that there are AP discounts for our days on premium sites as well. The difference is about $200. I'm torn--loved where we were last time. Near the trading post and pool, but saving a little would be nice.

Will we be OK with the space in the full hook up sites? We have a 35ft TT and tow vechicle is a Chevy 2500 crew cab. Will we be too far from "everything" ( I know that's what many want, but me not so much). We will have our golf cart, so I guess we will be fine. Right? I wish I had not looked and seen the premium available.

The premiums do spoil you. If you get a large site in 1600 or 1700 I'd think you like it as well as any premium. You can place a request on your reservation.

Well, I have run into that situation many times. I prefer loop 800 in the Premium category, but it's expensive and usually not available when I need to book. So, I have stayed in the full-hook many times, more than my preferred Loop 800. I have always stayed in loop 1900 (full hook up), because it is away from everything and very tree'd. If you have a golf cart or even bikes (which is what we have) it really isn't that big of a deal to get around. So, it takes it you another 5-7min. to get to the store and 10-12 min. to get to the back of the resort. The bus stops are all at the end of the loops, so that really isn't a huge difference.

However, with all that being said the full sites require me bringing my outdoor carpet (because the Premium loops have a wider cement area) so that's a bit more of a hassel. Plus, extra foil for the grill and we have to keep more of an eye on the weather (because the premium outdoor grills have covers on them). The sites are wider in the Premium loops so they are easier to back into, so if your at all uncomfortable backing into a small or tight space's (due to the neighbor's truck being parked in the way across from your confirmed site etc.) Or you have slide out's you might want to think about spending the extra money for the premium loops. But, if none of these things are a factor, geeze save the money so you can spend it on something else.

I always pull out my site map when I get there (or before I leave) and ride or walk around and pick out the sites I would prefer to stay at. That way I know what to request based on what's available to book at the time of my reservation. I have years of research, the worst part is it all goes down the tubes everytime we upgrade to another camper. What was perfect for one we had, may not be for the new one. Plus, the shade (if any) hits the sites differently at different times of the year, which is fine if the A/C is working, but if it's not....well, let's just say I have been mistaken for Disney Security more than once walking around in my Disney shirt writting down numbers! LOL!
But hey, it's what works for me and makes me a Happier Camper!

Stop looking, you will be fine. My favorite sites are the back side of the 1900 loop. Nice & quiet

My parents have requested that I help them scout out a site. However, while we have stayed at the wilderness cabins, that was 13 years ago. I am so very uneducated on things at this point. & the Disney website is absolutely no help. This forum is a blessing. (There needs to be an open FAQ thread. ISJ.) Okay, enough rambling, on to my questions.

• Alcohol policy?
• After the rehabs (which are sparsley described & sporadically placed) what is/are the difference(s)?
• How do you "request" a spot? It it like most camping places? (i. e. scout a spot, then come back & close out paperwork?)
• What spots/loops are spaced somewhat far apart? Extra Trees are a bonus.

The google and site maps are a bit confusing to try to navigate. But Some loops looked like they squished people in. Definitely looking for a site similar to the one on the Camping Overview page

TIA for all answers. I just really want to make this special & worry free for them.

ladyelenawf, let me see if I can answer your questions:

1. Alcohol policy - no problem in the campsite, just remember that the neighbors appreciate quiet celebrations.

2. The major difference during the rehabs was to lengthen and widen the Premium sites plus the addition of cable TV in ALL sites.

3. Spot/Loop requests: there should be a sample fax form in the FAQ section (written requests are always the best)...but keep in mind that Disney will do all that is possible to fulfill your requests, but they cannot guarantee your request will be granted.

4. Site spacing: loop setup varies...I've seen sites as close as 5 yards and others 15 yards. There are usually plenty of trees (except in the newest loop) and unfortunately Disney has spent the last couple of years clearing out some of the ground vines that were threatening to overtake the entire campground, the trees, and the campers ...on the upside, they are supposedly planting more bushes (please correct me if I am off-base with this point) to improve the site privacy.

It did! My parents are the ones camping. So it's not going to be rough & rowdy. Dad just likes to kick back with a cold one when he's playing in the woods. I must have missed the fax form, but I will definitely head back over to the FAQ & scour for it.

You will have plenty of room in the full hookup sites. Plus they are usually quieter. Have stayed in a premium loop and since the site are closer together, it is less private. I stayed in a premium loop in October and it was horrible but it was due to rowdy neighbors. Guess you can have them in any loop but they were so close.
