Full Capacity at Parks??

Has disney ever ran out of tickets, due to full capacity??

I don't know if it's considered running out, but I know they've closed the gates to non-property guests at WDW on New Years Eve. If you weren't in the parks by about 11 a.m., you wouldn't be able to get in. I don't know about DLR, though, and I can't tell you any other days. I have heard of it happening at other times, though.

I remember seeing on the news that just after Christmas time (2010) Disneyland closed to new guests as they were at full capacity. If it was on our news in Canada, I am sure it made other areas news broadcasts.

People were standing around waiting to be let in and being turned away. People were talking about how this was their family vacation etc....

I was at DLR this past Thanksgiving, and while Thanksgiving morning wasn't very busy, the afternoon was sheer craziness. I was with my family and my best friends family and someone had a DL app on their Iphone that could list the capacities of each park. Most days we were there, it was in the 90% and above range, more likely in the upper 90s. I don't think it ever reached 100% capacity, but it was certainly very close.

I was there a weekend in April in 2006 and was told it was one of the biggest days ever at DL but I don't remember if they closed the park or not.

If they didn't they should have. Hour plus wait for rides like Monsters Inc. I think we rode 3 things the entire day. It really was not fun.

My family and I went during Christmas time in 2007,,one day when we left Disneyland to hop over to Califonia Adventure, when they were stamping our hand..The person at the gate told us that Disneyland was at capacity and that there may be a chance we would not get back in.

Yeah, I don't believe they run out of tickets but they will deny entry to new guests. And guests that have already entered the park for the day "MUST" get their hand stamped even if the person has an Annual Pass.

I've experienced full capacity twice, they will warn guests ahead of time by placing advisory signs at the turnstiles warning that the park is pretty busy and to the get a handstamp. And on the roads they will update traffic traveling to Disney on if the park is closed or not.

It's not fun at all and it's an awful experience. My friend and I couldn't take the crowds so we hung out on the 2nd level of The Golden Horseshoe for awhile which was the only place we could find that wasn't crowded.
