Disney MGM was our plan for today, mainly because Brittany had a bunch of shows she wanted to show me that I didn't get to see when I was down on business and she and mommy visited the parks.

We walked in and were quite shocked by the first sight that we saw - some BIG construction right in front of the Great Movie ride. It looked horrible, and we were dismayed that it would block the great movie ride from the main street view. A friendly Cast Member said that it will be Mickey's Sorceror hat. I'll reserve judgement until it's done since we only saw the beginnings, but I hope it looks really really really good. Knowing Disney I probably have nothing to fear.

First on the agenda is Doug Live. Of course when they asked for volunteers at the beginning, mommy suggested I try, and I stood up and made my presence known to the girl on the stage and got picked. I was to be part of the 'Beets' and as it turned out, ended up being Chap Lipman, the drummer. We went to 'wardrobe' to get our cool clothes, then to 'makeup' where I had my head shaved into a purple mowhawk. I also got some cool googly glasses to wear. We had our whole 37 seconds of fame when The Beets came on. Mommy took some pictures with the digital and being she doesn't really know how to work it all that well, got some decent pictures.

After Doug, we decided to eat at Hollywood and Vine for a character lunch, walked up and were seated right away. As it turns out, this was one of the best decisions we made the whole trip. We met Chip and Dale, Goofy, and Minnie Mouse. The characters were very interactive and we got some great video of Brittany goofing around with the characters. She danced with Chip and Dale during the 'show' they all put on, and generally had a great time. What's surprising is it cost the same as the Artist Pointe breakfast and was 200 times more fun. Even our waitress went out of her way to help when she had some watermelon brought out from the kitchen for Brittany when we noticed the breakfast/fruit section had closed. We took her picture too.

After lunch, we went over to Bear in the Big Blue House and sat and watched that show. It was a lot of fun, and very much like the Bear show we saw in Milwaukee a couple weeks ago. Brittany got to stand up and dance and generally we all had a good time. On the way out we noticed some really big chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. We wondered what they were for.

We went to the back of the park where we jumped into the next showing of the Hunchback show. This was a good show with a really good juggler as the opening act. During this show, it started to sprinkle, so when we came out and saw buzz and woody taking pictures, we waited in the rain to see them. We didn't get too wet, got their picture and then ran back to the hunchback theater ro wait out the rain.

Again flying across the park, we went up to see the Beauty and the Beast show. There were some performers doing an opening act called "Four for a Dollar". They were an acapela chorus and sang some good songs while pretending to be cast members that weren't supposed to be on stage. We bought their CD afterwards. We watched the newly revised Belle show, and of course it was pretty good.

It was getting late and we promised Brittany she could see Inspector Gadget's car at the end of the backlot tour. Instead of taking the tour, we walked around back and went into the gallery where I took a bunch of pictures of different movie stuff. They had some cool Nightmare Before Christmas shirts, but none my size.

On the way out we met a cast member from New Berlin who insisted on taking our picture. It was nice talking to him about 'back home'. We also noticed that the hanging plants were all being watered from atomizers above the plants. Guess we know how Disney keeps all the hanging plants looking good now. We noticed one that had a leak, and it was spraying a big stream of water almost 6 feet away from it's intended plant. Too funny.

Besides the rain we had to hide from in the middle of the day, again we had another Disney Day.
