Sad, Sad day. It is the day we have to head out and go home. Luckily I had scheduled our flight back later in the day, assuming it’d be nice to have a little time before we went home to hit the parks again. We checked out of our room, bummed to be ending our first DVC stay, but certainly happy that we had purchased and felt it was well worth the money spent. I took a bunch of pictures of the Iron Spike room – something I hadn’t done but had wanted to do before we left. Mommy insisted I run back in to take the pictures. Since our room was on points, the only settling we had to do was get back the $2 we still had as a credit on our room. Not wanting to exceed our budget, we used cash for most of our purchases at the park, in the form of Travelers checks put on our room account. The Cast Member checking us out didn’t actually know the procedure for giving us cash back and had to ask. That’s how I like to end a vacation – getting some money back, even if it was only $2. We piled into the car and went over to the Marketplace to eat lunch and shop just a little more. We also took our picture with the huge Dalmatians in the window display at the world of Disney, pictures to maybe put on a sheet cake with the new ‘picture toppings’ they have.. We asked a cast member and she just thought it was a great idea and was all excited watching us take the pictures. She even let us turn one around to get better pictures of it.

We then dashed over to the Magic Kingdom, with a few hours left before we had to go we figured we could catch some character time and then head on out. We saw a few characters and got sprinkled a little on – a harbinger of things to come. We walked through Tomorrowland on the way out of the park for one last shot at seeing if we could find Angiebelle. Success! She finally was working at the sewing place making hats. We talked for a bit, traded a pin, and then we headed on our way out. It woulda been nice to spend more time with her cause the college intern program sounds cool, but we needed to be leaving to get to the airport. It was nice meeting her, and I didn't even take her picture or ask her to sew me a hat. Oh well! Nice meeting you Angie! On the way back down Main Street USA it started to rain so we ducked into some shops to wait it out and shop a little. Almost an hour later, it showed no signs of letting up and we had to leave or miss our plane. Of course we had packed our rain ponchos already so had to buy one for the stroller (Brittany had fallen asleep), and an umbrella for mommy. Daddy didn’t mind getting sprinkled on and figured I could dash from cover to cover. By the time we made it to the car, we were soaked, cold and in a rush so we could make it to the airport, check the bags, and get on the plane.

We made it to the airport ok, with the rain stopping just as we arrived (figures!). We checked the bags at the curb, and I went down and checked the van back in while mommy went up to hit the Disney Store while I took care of that. Checkin was ok, until I noticed on my receipt that they had charged my company’s card for our personal stay. 20 minutes later at the counter, the rep there had it all straightened out and I dashed up to meet everyone up in the store. We headed over to the concourse, and made it in plenty of time for our flight, oops, which was delayed because of bad weather somewhere else. Another plane was coming in to get us, and we should have plenty of time for our connecting flight. Of course, that plane was late, and we got off the ground and headed to Minneapolis

During the flight, we worried about the delay and asked the flight attendants if we would be late. They assured us we had plenty of time, even though we had only 10 mins from when we were supposed to land and the takeoff time of the other flight. There were a lot of people on the plane making connecting flights and they actually made an announcement to ask anyone who wasn’t making a connection to wait until those of us that were got off the plane. Although that was very nice and it gave us a head start, they refused to call ahead or even tell us if the flight was delayed. Then to make matters worse, the stroller didn’t come from the cargo bay until the pilot went down and got it. We made a dash the two concourses to the place where our connecting flight was, only to be told we were just delayed and had plenty of time. I thought I was really going to die right there. After running with two big carry ons, I was really outta breath. Gael even caught up to me on the run to the gate. Obviously she is in much better shape than I am. We got on the plane and made the uneventful flight back to Milwaukee, where Mom and Dad Fulcer were waiting for us.

On the drive back to our house, I asked if Dad had our house keys (which I had left with him) but he had forgotten them so we had to make a side trip to their house. When we finally made it back to the house, we unpacked some suitcases, but left some for the next day as I had to go into work, and Gael had off with Brittany. It was very late by the time we made it to bed and the next day I was really dragging. Bummed to be back from Disney, and tired from the late night travel.
