We just dont know yet. Its going to be tough because DCL is struggling to fill ships (hence the discounts) but cost to operate is about to go up. We will need to wait and watch
The Wish class ships use natural gas which has not been increasing nearly as much as oil.
The last time surcharges were widespread was when oil was at over $100 a barrel for a while. So far we touched that high for a day and it dropped back to $90. We shall see!

I would think there will be some kickback if they do add the surcharge but will get kicked pretty hard if they add it to ships that it does not apply to, but who knows anymore.
Its easier for DCL not to discount as deep to offset any additional costs... Also most cruisers do not know what ships running on LNG and the prices for that. On Disboards we are a small minority. My April Dream cruise has tons of first time cruisers and they are confused and asking questions about reservations for shows or can you purchase lobster on Castaway... Most DCL cruisers will not know the Wish is LNG but the Fantasy is not.

Very true, but you don't think the press would jump all over the industry (not just DCL) if surcharges were put on LNG ships? I don't think they would risk that bad press and the probability that congress would start asking questions.

Not really. It would have some click bait articles and some fans would get upset but that would be that. Most cruisers are not doing a lot of research (or any research). Look at all the bad press over the DAS changes... Disney is keeping those and a fuel charge is a much smaller issue
