Fuel spill at Port Canaveral

"The spill was contained by a boom permanently placed underwater in that area." Well that sounds good...? Or at least better than it could have been!

Should keep it from moving out to the Atlantic. Should make it easier to clean. But I do not know time tables. And not sure if ships can use the port, before it is cleaned up. I know our state wants to ban off shore drilling because so much of our economy is tied to our coastline. And boy do we have coastline.

I will try to post updates.

Hopefully no issues that prevent ships from sailing in and out. We are supposed to leave out of PC on Friday. Please let us know what you hear. Thanks.

While this is not good and we all wish it hadn't happened 100 gallon spill is actually not very big. It was contained by booms that were in place. I don't imagine it had much of an impact on port activity. Also, it was not in the cruise ship area of the port. I wouldn't worry about it affecting cruises.

Thank you for this. My searches for an update simply brought up the history of all the spills at PC. Clearly the booms that contained the spill are a “lesson learned” from one of the earlier spills.
