The Hess Stations at Disney are charging the following prices today (11/11/07)

Regular: $3.08
Mid-grade: $3.18
Premium: $3.28

Can anyone tell me why diesel is so much higher when it is less refined????

Two reasons, Low sulfer mandate, and it competes with heating oil for home heating and the demand is high in winter. I will say that everything in this country is moved by truck/train(Diesel) so it raises the cost of everything.

Yep, heading down Wednesday and I since its only about a seven hour drive pulling the fiver, it should only take me 2 1/2 tanks of diesel going down. Does take a lick out of the pocket every time you pull into the pumps. Now for my diesel vs gasoline rant.
I can pull into a station that might have ten fueling islands with two being diesel and gas at the same pump. Why do the little ole ladies always pull up to those pumps to fuel up with gas with the other pumps vacant? They will block the diesel pumps while they gas up, then go inside to do their Sunday shopping. There I will sit with the truck running and the fiver blocking traffic, waiting for them to move. Sorry, just had to get that one off my chest.

I live in Miami, FL and I have a school bus that I just filled up at $3.45 and thats cheap.....

Cheap! I would have been crying at the pump if I had to fill up at 3.45 a gallon.

Thats why I use the big truck pumps, my money is just as green as theirs.

Not a problem if a truck stop is handy but many times they're not. Those fast dumping truck pumps really foams the fuel and kicks off too quick so I have to dribble the last five gallons or I won't get a full tank. Plus you ever notice how diesel soaked the pavement is around the truck stop pumps. I hate standing in that mess then tracking it back in the truck. On the road, you get diesel where you can.
