Fuel for Contemporary fire!

I hope this isn't old news. I was reading Birnbaum's new 2008 guide last night and on page 81 they have an article on the DVC. They listed the resorts and the third one was the Contemporary! It would be an understatement to say I was surprised!

Sorry, but it is old news. Not too much gets past the members here on the Dis. Heck, members here found drawings of the CRV before Disney even started demolition of the wing. That was about a year and a half ago.

As far as I know, the inclusion of CRV in Birnbaum's is new news. As Tomandrobin said, it's been speculated about here for a long time.

After the zoning documents, various governmental environmental study filings, architect's drawings, the demolition of the North Wing, and the obvious construction of what will eventually be about a 14-15 story building, the Orlando Sentinel finally came out from under a rock yesterday and said they thought something was up at the Contemporary! Got their finger right on the pulse of their community...YES, they DO!!!

Thank god someone finally wrote about this....this is the moment i have been waiting for since we bought in....I can not wait to stay on points at a monorail resort in my two bedroom with a view....they cant build the thing quick enough for me....i wonder what the outrageous point cost will be????....It will be a long way from the $75 a point I paid years ago.

i can't wait for the cont. to open. the buy in price will probably be somewhere in the neighborhood of the akv plus a little. maybe the incentive will be good.

just think!! all 3 transportations at one location. can't beat that.

I must say that since Birnbaum's is the official guidebook of Walt Disney World this makes Contemporary DVC as close to official as any clue we (DISers) have found.

This is the first I heard of the Birnbaum mention. As the offical guide, that would be a pretty huge mistake for Birnbaum and would cause it a lot of trouble with Disney if it were not true. This is beginning to be like DVC's "Disney's Best Kept Secret" advertisements -- it keeps showing up everywhere, everyone already knows the "secret," and all you are waiting for is the personal sales pitch telling you how much it will cost.

This is new and exciting news to me. Seems like all the signs are pointed to the Contemporary becoming a dvc.
