We are considering the cabins this Christmas. My Mom will be with us and she requires a scooter/wheelchair.

Who has stayed in a wheelchair accessible cabin?

I know you folks are the most knowledgable people to ask!

Thanks so much for your feedback and pros/cons.

You might get some good answers from the folks in the disABILITIES forum, too. There's a bit of info in this thread.

My Mom stayed in a wheelchair accessible cabin this past summer, but I think the extent of its accessibility was simply a ramp to the front door in addition to stairs.

So I gather there are varying degrees of accessibility, including some cabins that have a wheel-in shower.

Sorry I don't have more info... I'd ask my Mom but she's on a cruise! :)

You might also ask on the camping board. They have lots of contributors who have stayed in the cabins.

Hi,

We stayed in the cabins for our 2007 trip! We had the ramp and the roll in shower. Our DD uses a chair fulltime. We really enjoyed our stay there!:goodvibes

My DD had no trouble getting around the cabin! She loved the big deck outside!:lovestruc She could easily access the bathroom.

I agree make sure you request roll in shower if needed. Some cabins only have the ramps to get in and out.

Enjoy your trip!:wizard:
