Does anyone have pics of the FW campsites? Is it a nice place to camp? How are the showers/restrooms and are there alot or is there a far walk

Fort Wilderness is the most wonder campground we ever been to. I've camped all my life and never found a cleaner, better kept facility. The bathrooms are immaculate. It's a very relaxing antidote to a day in the parks :sunny:

Fw has the reputation as being the best campground out there - and for good reason! It is exceptionally clean and well-maintained (washrooms too) and the theming is awesome. You definitely don't feel as is you are camping in a field and the sites are very nice. The pads are hosed off and the site is given a good inspection by CM after each guest leaves. We LOVE camping at FW for so many more reasons than the above though. Just a few: outdoor movie, sing-a-long, Chip 'n Dale, the trading posts, bike trails, lots of trees, playgrounds, marina, boat to FW, pony rides, barn.......Sigh....I miss FW!

I could not agree more with the other replies. My husband's Family has been camping in FW for many many years. We all go back several times a year. Our next trip is this October. The Campsites are clean and roomy. We have a 33ft Motor home and we have plenty of room. The bathrooms are very very clean and kept up. It is a large campground and Disney provides Bus service to get around. If you choose, they also have the Bike Barn where you can rent bikes or even golf carts (we usually rent a golf cart--it is a lot of fun!). Transportation to MK is very easy. It is just a boat ride away! All the other parks are just a bus ride away. You will enjoy FW Camp Ground. pixiedust:

fort wilderness is a great place to vacation and the wilderness log cabin will be great.:mickeyjum :figment:

Once you have stayed at FW, you will always find yourself comparing every campground you stay at, thereafter, to FW. FW sets the standard. :thumbsup2

Once you've been to Disney World you find yourself comparing every other vacation to it, don't you? I just figured the campgrounds would give us that much more of a reason to want to go now.

I like it a lot. stayed there many times. Bathrooms are nice. location excellent for riding bikes, going for walks, and roasting marshmallows. It definitely has a higher emphasis on outdoor recreation and "slow pace" atmosphere. If you are planning to have a Hetic disney schedule then this probably is not the resort for you. You have to take a Tram to the bus stop or tram to boat launch to go to any theme park/water park. Perfect if you are not in a rush to get places. :yay:

I was staying there a couple of years ago and my neice stayed with me for a couple of nights. When her dad called to make arrangements to pick her up he told her to meet him in 20 minutes. Her comment to him was You can't get any where in 20 minutes from FW. It is not a place you can rush around in. It is calm and pieceful. Yes you can get to the parks on time but you learn to take it easy.

Just reading these. Does anyone have prices on renting the bikes or golf cart. Trying to figure out if we want to bring our own all the way from Ontario

Golf carts are approximately $44.00 per 24 hour period. The bikes are approximately $20.00 per day.

Is it a good idea then to take your own?:coffee:
Is there room to park them on your site or by the boat or train?:dance3:
