Hi everyone!

I recently found out that you can camp at the fort, and have Disney set everything up for you. I know this may sound crazy for some of you, but my hubby is not exactly the camping type and I love the idea, but have never really done it.

Is this true??? :confused3: I would love for my first experience camping to be at WDW....

I am not sure that they will set everything up for you, however, I do remember hearing that if you ask they may assist you.

Yes for a fee it can be done. Use the "search this forum" tool for the words "rent tent" and it should get u the info. The tents are about 10 x 12 witha floor and almost 6 ft tall inthe middle.

Can you rent camping gear at FW?

Yes. The official policy for Fort Wilderness is that rental tents and cots are only available to groups of 20 or more using Creekside Meadow, the primitive camping area. However, official policy and practice seem to differ. Individuals have rented equipment before and I've called FW myself and been told they do rent equipment to individuals if they have it available and a group hasn't already made arrangements to rent it. Tents are $30 per night, cots are $4 per night, so it's not cheap.

Another option would be to use one of the companies that will bring out an RV to FW and set it up for you. Much nicer than a tent and depending on the time of year you would have A/C.

I have a couple that folks have used in the past on my web page.

Just so you know for both of these options you will also need to pay for a site.

For the tent setup, its not a complete camping setup. I think you can only get a tent and cots. I don't think anything else like towels or bedding.

For renting a trailer they are pretty well equipped but around $130 a night on top of the site fee. So you somewhere between a Mod and Deluxe.

I'm not saying not to do it just realize what you are getting yourself into.
