Ok folks due to situations........ we're looking at changing some plans.........instead of 2 Beach Club studio's we're now looking at economizing by doing 1 Ft Wilderness Cabin or 1 AoA Nemo suite. I've been to AoA but never did a suite.......and I've never stayed at the Cabins. I'm looking for feelings and thoughts. We're a party of 5...........4 adults and 1 child (8). Our trip is planned for October.........if that matters.

Our best plan will be to make a room only reservation. The other part of our group wants to get DDP, my wife and I have AP's (or will by that time)...and have no interest in the DDP. If anyone understands how that plus tickets for the other 3 can be done I all ears? :-)

Unfortunately, the DDP is all or nothing. When adding DDP to a room reservation, everyone in the room has to purchase the plan. If they really want DDP and you don't, your best bet is to book two value or mod rooms depending on budget.

You didn't mention in which room the child will be staying, but two rooms could work regardless. If the child is in your room, simply book room-only for yourself and buy the child's tickets separately, while the other two adults book room/tickets/dining. If the child is in the other room, they can book a package with room/dining/tickets while you just book a room-only.

If you really want to do the AoA suite of Ft. W (both have pro's and con's) and all stay together, you will all have to decide if you are buying DDP or not. If doing DDP, you can book a "ticketless package" (room plus dining) with or without an AP discount. You can then purchase the other guests' tickets separately either through WDW or through a third-party seller like Undercover Tourist. If not doing DDP, simply book room-only and buy the other tickets you need separately.

I think that's going to be a difficult decision, with 4 adults. I don't know the dynamics of the group, but I'm guessing one pair of adults has the child! At the cabins the bedroom has bunk beds in it, so the couple with child can have bedroom, and other couple can have the pull out in living room.
At AoA, would be opposite, couple without child can have bedroom, and couple with child can have pull outs in living room. AoA does have 2 bathrooms, so each family can have their own bathroom.

With one family wanting DDP, you would need seperate res, maybe 2 rooms at a value? This option may be cheaper than suite or cabin? You'd have to price out both options.

I agree to consider two value rooms instead. That way you'll have more privacy.

Also, the ones that want to purchase the DDP can do so for their room.

As the others have said, there is no way to stay in one cabin/suite unless everyone gets-doesn't get, the dining plan. It is all or nothing.
Good Luck

Excellent information folks.........which is why I posted here :-)

Thanks,

You can also maybe rent a Travel Trailer and book a campsite is another option. Also the cabins too have a kitchen and a grill outside so you can cook food and also pack small cooler s for the park.

4 adults in the cabin is difficult with only 1 bathroom -- plus with the cabin (and we've stayed at both), you really want to get a golf cart which adds another $60 plus per day to be able to get around easily. Having 2 full baths is wonderful in the AOA suites. However, please note that there is only1 real bed in the suites, the other two beds are a sleep sofa and a murphy that pulls down onto the dining table. I slept on that and it was perfectly comfortable, however, it is only a full size bed not a queen so two people on there would be crowded.

Thanks again...........unfortunately things are in a state of flux we're looking at 4 more in our group...o_O....................so now were 9 :crazy2:............we looking at renting a DVC 2 bedroom now:oops: If we get back to this question again..........the AoA comments are very helpful.

Doug :goofy:

be careful about renting DVC points. It's usually nonrefundable. It can be a great deal, if you plans are set and not changing. Personally, I would get 3 rooms only at a Value. That way whomever can get DDP and if one party drops out, no worries. Room only area canx up to 5 days out. If you add DDP, you have to get a package and it is 45 days out canx. I think you can also convert a room only to a package later, if needed.
