Ft.Wilderness Buses/Getting to Parks ????

Need Answers Please !
Staying at Ft. Wilderness Cabins with kids and other families. Heard Rumors that the Bus Transportation is awful in and around Ft. Wilderness Resort and to Theme Parks. Looking for any and all clarification, tips, comments, suggestions, feedback etc....
And any other Ft. Wilderness tid-bits you want to mention too !

Jeff Spencer's Fort Wilderness FAQ has many of the "tidbits" you seek including info on the bus service.

Because Fort Wilderness is so large, it utilizes internal shuttles that can take you all over Fort Wilderness, including to the main bus stops.

Internal buses run every 10 minutes from 7am-2am.

Fort Wilderness has its own bus for Downtown Disney and Animal Kingdom, and shares with Wilderness Lodge for Studios and Epcot. Magic Kingdom, you can take a bus to the Transportation Center to catch the Monorail, or you can catch the boat from Pioneer Hall.

All theme park buses run about every 15 minutes.

The FW bus system is working well now. The changes made within the last few years have all been positive.

We stayed there last year and took our bikes. We'd bike to the petting zoo, lock up our bikes, pop out the stroller and walk to the boat and zip along to MK. Our favorite part was rounding the corner and watching DDs face as the castle came into view. Only park I didn't much care for the transp. to was AK.

If you are camped near Pioneer hall, or have bikes or a golf cart, then the transp. is great! Even the two times we took internal bus systems wasn't bad.

Camped at FW for 8 days in June and had no problems with the transportation at FW. First morning, had 8:05 PS at Crystal Palace, hit the bus stop at 7:20, bus comes and I ask the gal in Purple Pants what bus to catch for Character meal, she says get on this one, next thing I know, we are pulling up to front gate of MK. Had to wait 20 min to get in, we were that early. When we would get to a bus stop, I would check the time and again when the bus pulled up, rarely was it over 10 min. but when you're just sitting there waiting it seems a lot longer. If you want to know something about the transportation, ask the people in PURPLE PANTS.
