So, I was thinkin' the other day. Those of us who are staying at a resort during the free dining plan got a darn good deal, but what about those who will be pitching a tent or wheeling in an RV ... did these folks also get the free dining plan after only paying $38 for their campsite (plus cost of park admission)?!?! If so... I guess good for those frugal people! :cool1:

Free dining was available for the Ft. Wilderness Cabins but not the campsites.

Personally, I think that it should have been offered to those at the Ft. Wilderness Campground area especially those people who are doing full hookups. For those that think everyone in the campground area is only paying $38 a night, that's not true. That is only for the minimal campsite such as those pitching a tent. For all those RVs and trailers they are usually paying $89 a night which can be more than a value resort. And chances are those that are staying at Ft. Wilderness will also be renting a golf cart (another $40+ day).

So just because someone stays in Ft. Wilderness doesn't mean they are getting off on the cheap. Anyone who knows anything about RVing knows it is not a cheap alternative, just an alternative to staying in a hotel. It can be very comforting to many people to know that the sheets are cleaned as well as the bathroom.

That being said we do not own our own RV - we usually stay in the cabins. But several family members we have in our own families do own their own RV and I know it isn't always as cheap as people think it is.

Not exactly accurate rate quote. I have a trailer and have never spent more than 43 dollars a night at FW with full hookups. Also, most of us don't rent golf carts, although a lot do.

Well, according to their website that's the range from $38-$89. If it's really just $43 a night for full hookup then someone needs to do some updating.

I don't use the campground so I've never booked it so I relied on the information from the WDW website. I do know the rates posted for the cabins are correct as we have paid the rack rate before.
