My brother is graduating MP school at Ft Leonard Wood in Missouri I know that ive got to fly into St Louis but my question is does anyone have an address i can put into the gps... to 1. find a hotel and 2. get driving directions... I've looked at the base's website but couldn't find anything that could help me out... so I figured I'd ask here.. any help would be great... my brothers not that good at actually getting information that could be helpful at all..

Thanks for any help anyone can give!

My DS spent time there and the best place to look for lodging is St. Roberts. It is right down the road to Ft. Leonard Wood. We have stayed at the Fairfield, the Hampton and the Baymont. They are all pretty much the same and anyone would be fine.

Its an easy trip down 44 from St. Louis. Its really easy to find. When you get off at St. Roberts, everything is pretty much right there.

Once you get to Fort Leonard Wood, its easy to get turned around! I always seemed to circle the area a couple of times before I found where I was going!!

Good Luck and have a great trip!

The BEST place to stay (we lived at Ft. Wood for many years) is actually in Rolla, 15-20 minutes away. The Holiday Inn Express is brand new, very clean, nice, and has complementary breakfast. The staff is excellent. That's where we directed all of our family & friends who came to visit.

Slice of Pie in Rolla is yummy! There aren't many choices for restaurants in Ft. Wood or St. Robert (it's not plural, "Roberts"). There is a Ruby Tuesday but that's abt it.

Good luck!

BTW, you CAN fly into Ft. Leonard Wood. But make sure you book the entire flight together (it routes through ST. Louis) b/c it's EXTREMELY expensive if you book two separate flights. So if you're flying from, say, New York, book the flight from NY to Forney Airport (it's called Waynesville Regional Airport but it's on post) and NOT from NY to STL and then to Forney. Does that make sense?
