Looking for a hotel for 4 adults on the beach and close to everything. Anyone :cool1: thanks

When I went looking for a beachfront hotel in Ft. Lauderdale late last year, I discovered that most of the hotels in Ft. Lauderdale are not on the beach--I found a total of four really nice hotels on the beachfront.
We wound up staying at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort, very nice, relatively new, and one of the few hotels on the beach. It is a bit off the beaten track. I can also vouch for Pier 66, which is on the Intracoastal and has a nice waterfront vibe. Both hotels are fairly pricy.

thanks. I guess I am more so looking for a hotel that is walking distance to some bars and restaurants so we do not have to rent a car

Any time we have been in Ft. Lauderdale, we have taken taxis to get around. Split 4 ways, the taxis aren't very expensive.
Ft. Lauderdale is very spread out, so if you count on walking everywhere, it could be a problem. There is a "water taxi" that is a lot of fun to use, and a trolley that goes up and down Las Olas Blvd. and to the beaches (not sure about other routes).
I suggest you try Trip Advisor to find the areas of Ft. Lauderdale that appeal the most to you.

We have stayed at Marriott Beach Place Towers--it is a timeshare but we rented per night. The hotel was beautiful, just a walk across the street to the beach. We had kids with us, and Ft Lauderdale was just not for us.

This is where we stayed also. Loved the fact that it was right on the beach.

We went in April and stayed at the Westin. It has its own walkway over the street, so you might as well be on the beach. It was very nice and we walked everywhere. Make sure you take a day to take the water taxi around town - it was lots of fun.

You'd want to stay around Las Olas.

You would have to cross the street to get to the beach but it has loads of restaurants and stuff around.

However, I suggest you stay at Hollywood Beach. It is about 20 mins away from Ft. Lauderdale. I always stay at Hollywood Beach, being a local myself. There is a boardwalk that is miles long that has beach front hotels and timeshares. The only thing separating you from the beach is a sidewalk. Its' soooo close!

It also has so many great restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors, little shops for shirts and beach gear, etc.

You can also rent bikes (up to 8 people) and jet ski's, etc.

If you've seen the movie Marley & Me, they shot there in the scene where Owen Wilson was sitting down and puppy Marley started running and grew into an adult-size.

It's a lovely place. But if you perfer Ft. Laduderdale, I suggest you stay on las olas :)

We've stayed a few times at the Bahia Mar. It is across the street from the beach and walking distance from shops and restaurants :).
