Im sorry to hear that the rate jumped that high, did you check again? maybe you put in the wrong airport, i have typed in the wrong letters one time and the rate was sky high because it was flying from a different country:lmao:
I just cant believe it would jump that high over night, good luck, pixie dust:wizard:

I am truely sorry, i just checked your flights and you are right, except the flight is now $938 with tax and stopping in Tallahasses (sp?) OMG! I would be checking other airlines! PIxie dust !

You might want to look into a rental car, it is only about a 4 hour drive from Ft. Lauderdale to Disney. The drive is easy too, straight up the FL Turnpike, even with tolls it would be cheaper than those flights(faster too since the flight includes a stop, plus the hour or more that you need to be at the aiport before the flight).

Wait for SW to release and book on them.

We did a one-way car rental from FLL - Orlando (we stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel). Took us about 3 hours on the Turnpike. :thumbsup2

I am afraid I am not a travelling peson. Even with a GPS....I would get lost. Hoping that the flights will come down today, seeing it is Monday! Delta is usually higher on the weekend.

You'll get your best rates after SW opens up their schedule to include your dates.

SW's fully refundable fare is currently $107 and promotional fares are $50-$60.

I wouldn't rush to book Delta.

Have you ever used a GPS? When it says "turn" you turn.
When it says "arriving at destination" you stop. If, for some reason, you don't follow the directions and go another way it will "recalculate" and continue giving you directions. I don't know how you could possibly get lost if using a GPS. :confused3

Getting from Orlando to the Port of Ft lauderdale is pretty easy. Go straight down Florida Turnpike or 1-95. It will take you less time to drive than fly about 3.5 hours straight and very flat and boring......

I don't know that I'd bother with the hassle of an airport for such a short trip. What with getting there early for security, the inevitable delays, etc. etc. it's likely to be faster to drive.

I know it is expensive to fly out of Fort Lauderdale. We are flying back to Milwaukee from Fort Lauderdale and it is $65 more, than flying home from Orlando. I talked to a sales person from Midwest Express and she told me it is a smaller airport and mostly people use Fort Lauderdale for Cruises. She said it doesn't have many flights in or in/out, so they can charge more.

Fort Lauderdale's airport is a piece of cake compared to Miami, and frequently cheaper, thanks to Southwest.

You could look at Spirit Air. They have not released yet but they have through the end of October so December should be coming soon. They always have specials.

I've never flown them before but I would look at Spirit Airlines. My dad lives in Ft. Lauderdale and he booked airfare from them in September to and from Orlando for $78/rt. This is before paying for the luggage. They always seem to run some sort of special so I would wait until one of them comes out. I think he got the $48 off a roundtrip ticket.

Really guys.....I would be one of those drivers you would be afraid to be with on the highway, one of those drivers you'd like to flip a finger at!
Eight lanes of traffic scares me:scared1: . I come from a province in New Brunswick, Canada that just got two lanes of traffic on each side. Our double land highways are just being finished as we speak:rotfl:

I really do need to take a plane for the safety of others and safety of my son. Really I do:rotfl:

I was told Ft. Lauderdale is cheaper then Miami and all Airlines point to that scenario. So I will hold on for SW or some other special.

Thank me, as you guys will all remain safe in your cars without me driving on your highway!

Ok, it's not flying but it was a GREAT solution when I was traveling from WDW to Ft. Lauderdale to pickup a cruise.........

Rent a car one way. Most rental cars consider cities in that part of Florida to be the "same". (One-way car rentals can be heart-stopping $$$).

Anyway, we paid $34 for a one-way car rental with National - and I believe there is a National counter in the Swan or Dolphin.

You will have 24 hours to use the car...pick it up the night before, load the luggage and leave in the AM - about 3 1/2 hours and you will BE THERE.

MUCH easier than flying and far less expensive.

Relax, if driving becomes the most cost effective option, the FL turnpike is not a crowded multi lane mess. For the most part it is 2 lanes in each direction with minimal entry/exit points. Tourists drive to Disney everyday and the exits are VERY clearly marked, plus if you miss one there will be another jsut ahead that will get you there too, so don't panic and try to cross lanes of traffic. If it turns out you need to drive, think of it a a great adventure, not as a big scary proscpect, after all, you can always turn the car around(at a safe spot)and try again.

Chances are you will be able to find a good flight, if not check back and folks on the Dis can give you great directions so you won't be scared or lost:goodvibes
