I'm looking for your input on "MUST NOT MISS" fs restaurants mostly in AK, MGM, and Epcot. I'm reading the Unofficial guide, and they're pretty harsh on disney dining. So if you have a nice fs place you go to every time you visit, please I'd like to hear your input. Or any place you can suggest that is nice for kids that are picky eaters. I've read the some of the reviews on this board, and they are in great contrast to that in the book, so any info would be helpfull!
THANK YOU

Depending on your mood at the time, our recommended sit-down restaurants in MGM are 50's Prime Time and Brown Derby. 50's needs to be visited with a good sense of humor, because the CMs are role-playing during the meal.
Brown Derby is based on the original in L.A., and is very nice. The food is great (IMHO), and if the server is 'on', a better meal in MGM is hard to find.
We just did 'Sci-Fi Dine In" this last trip, and it was a hoot!! Imagine going to a drive-in movie theater and having your meal in the car!! Cute....

In Epcot, we bounce between Le Cellier, Rose & Crown and Teppanyaki, depending on what we want to have. Restaurant Marrakesh is good too, as is Restaurant Akershus. I got burned at Alfredo's in Italy more times than I want to admit- so we don't do that anymore. The Coral Reef restaurant in Future World is really good too!!

In Animal Kingdom, Tusker House gets our vote. It has a good variety, and although not a FS restaurant- it has plenty of variety. The only FS restaurant in Animal Kingdom is the Character Meal (a buffet) and Rainforest Cafe at the entrance.

Also, we're both doing Atkins- and all of the restaurants have been most helpful about altering foods for us. We also share entrees quite often (due to the amount of food served) and have had no problems with that either.

Good luck, and I hope that some of this helps.........

EPCOT:
1. Garden Grill -- This is a good place to dine. This is open for lunch & dinner, has characters, and is served family-style all you can eat.
2. Le Cellier (Canada pavilion) -- This is a great place to dine. The food and service is very good.
3. Rose & Crown (UK pavilion) -- I dined here on my first AND last night on my recent trip. Make sure to request a patio table when you check in. I had the prime rib on both visits, as well as the hot apple cobbler for dessert (my mouth is just craving this right now) and both were excellent.
4. Coral Reef -- this is a nice place to dine, but is pretty expensive. If you dine here, I would recommend lunch over dinner (cheaper).

MGM:
1. 50's Primetime Cafe -- Yummy!!! Servings are big, but are hot and very tasty. This is a fun place to dine!
2. Sci-Fi -- This was just ok on my last trip. I had a burger & fries and it was just so-so. I would go for dessert.

Animal Kingdom:
1. Tusker House -- This is a great place to dine. Their chicken is really good.

Our list of must do's:

Epcot: Le Cellier, Teppanyaki

MGM: Brown Derby and Sci-Fi Diner

AK: no real great ones here. We love the Donald's breakfast here and then usually leave before we want another meal. Have eaten at Tuskers and it was good.

Connears

MGM: 50's Prime Time Cafe.

AK: Another vote for Tusker House. Flame Tree BBQ is pretty good too.

Epcot: In FW: Garden Grill. In WS: Teppanyaki, Marrakesh, Le Cellier.

Thanks everyone, you've all been a big help! Is the Rainforest Cafe' in AK any better/worse than the one in DTD? Thanks again for all your help!!
