Frustrated!

Just need to vent for a minute. I hate when I figure out how to save a little money and then something happens that sucks up a lot of money.

I mailed my grocery coupon/receipts out today for a $25 a month rebate program we got when we purchased bunk beds, got a $25 gift card for an rx at CVS, got $8 extra bucks when I purchased sunblock, used the gift card and extra bucks to buy DD a sand chair for our upcoming vacation, bought really cheap boogie boards to take with us so we don't get tempted to buy expensive ones at the beach and then...

the truck needs new brakes (had to have it towed with my new AAA membership yesterday) and it will cost $900 :headache:

I know we're blessed but it's frustrating to work so hard to get a little bit ahead of the game and something stupid happens.

Sorry, my pity party is now over :)

I am so sorry.

I completely know how you feel! We went through something similar just recently. We were finally almost able to start putting away money for our trip and my dog got hurt and needed surgery! GGRRRRR..

Don't apologize, we all need to get our frustrations off our chest from time to time.

Trust me I understand your pain. Last year as a total fluke I won a $2000.00 bonus at work, no one was getting any money that year and I just happened to have a bunch of customers write glowing letters for my service.

Friday I get this great news of an awesome bonus, knowing that it will be paid out in 3-4 weeks. In my mind I have spent the money 10 times over.:goodvibes

The very next Sunday, my cat is acting a little sickly. Now this is not a fancy pedigree cat, this is a $60 adopted cat, who we love very much. Anyhow I bought my cat back from the brink of death with my bonus money.:confused3

To this day, all my co-workers find it funny that I bought my cat twice, once for his $60 adoption fee, and the second time with a $1400.00 vet bill. He is fine now, and has shown no ongoing health concerns. Every once and a while when he is naughty, I look at him and think...you could have been a trip to disney. Then he does something cute and I love him.

Your car will get fixed and it will be in better shape than before. Also good timing on the AAA, that would have been an expensive tow.

Thanks for the sympathy. I can relate to the pet budget busters- and guess I should be happy that this summer's issue wasn't as expensive as last summer. Our then 8 month old kitten was on the counter and when DH put her down she landed wrong and split her leg bone from just below the growth plate to just above the growth plate  (The vet said she must have injured it earlier and just landed wrong) Several thousand dollars later she had a plate and 10 or so pins in her little kitten leg. I guess 900 for brakes isn't so bad :confused3 The guys DH works with call her "Golden Leg"

Thanks again for the sympathy! I just need a vacation to soak in the waves and forget about everything for a while!

Adding- BTW this is our "Free" barn kitten that we pretty much rescued with her brother. They were quarantined in our master bathroom for almost 3 months because they had a respiratory infection, fleas, ear mites, eye infection etc. They are total sweethearts though! So much for a free kittens :rolleyes1
