my mom is makeing me so frustrated i dont feal self conshos until she points it out!!!
good examples

she nags me about me teeth being crocked and how i need brases (i never cared b4 that) and i cant controle that im 13! i have like no money (she wont let me have any)

and yester day she said that acne you have is gona ruin your face we need to take you to a dermantolaject(sp?)


it be nice if she let me get brases or take care of my skin insed of naging me about stuff she will never do!!!!!

stuff like this makes me feel like ill never reach my gole of a famus actress
now at school i try to hide my face and teeth im missrabble!

Next time your mom says something about your teeth or skin, ask her if she's made an appointment yet.

You know what works for my kids? Nag her until she makes you those appointments with the dermatologist and orthodontist!

Life will get better. I'm sure you are beautiful, but remember that it is better to be beautiful on the inside then on the outside. We all went through awkward years. They pass. Every kid goes through it.

There are times you just have to learn when to listen and when to not listen. Your mother probably doesn't know she is making you self consious and how serious of a problem low self-esteem is. Just have confidance and carry yourself well, and you will seem beautiful to people. People are only really beautiful when they believe in themselves.

That is the most beautiful woman that has ever graced the silver screen, in my opinion. But she had horrible self esteem. She only thought she was beautiful when other people told her she was beautiful. The sad thing, she probably wouldn't be famous if she was young today. She was not stick thin, she is not today's "hollywood".

Today's "Hollywood" is so much stricter on women than it was only fifty years ago. Women must be stick thin, women must be tall, have thick hair, beautiful eyes. It seems like acting is taking second seat to beauty.

I'd never want to be famous. I don't want to be torn apart by people who are too scared to stand up on stage and do what I'm doing. But I'll act. I want to teach a theatrical arts class. Where skill is placed on a higher plane than beauty is.

Sometimes grownups say stupid stuff. Can you ask her to stop saying that stuff. Tell her it hurts you and makes you feel bad.

Get a calendar and ask her when she can make the appointments.

Your post struck a chord with me. I had terribly crooked teeth growing up, and my parents refused to spend money on braces. Maybe like your mom, my parents never saw my crooked teeth as their responsibility - it was MY problem! Well, you can image how it was growing up - I was never asked out on a date, and I was constantly teased especially by the boys. Back then, I tried to convince myself that my crooked teeth "gave me character" or "they weren't too bad", but they were pretty ugly! I don't fool myself anymore - straight teeth are necessay nowaday, and your mom sounds cruel for pointing out the flaws with no offer to help!!!

Some advice is this: take matters into your own hands! Save your pennies, get a part-time job when you are old enough. And get the braces yourself! Wish I took the initative when I was younger. I finally got my braces in my mid 30's, and now have a great smile. Wish I didn't wait so long to do it, so many wasted years in there!
