Frustrated! (vent)

I went this morning for my ultrasound and density compression test. It didn't get done. They forgot to schedule both tests and couldn't fit them in. Would mess up their precious schedule. So I have to wait another week and have it done next week. No sorry. Just too bad. I am so mad and fustrated. I could have worked today.
They claim my doctor's office didn't tell them of both tests. I doubt that. Unfortunately since I didn't call personally I can't prove it. Next time the will have to deal with a relay call and I'll set up the appointment myself. And they will get my tty number to contact me so they will have to call back via relay. No more letting them leave messages on my voice phone for my family to listen to and tell me. They want to give me problems I won't make life easier for them.

Very sorry that happened to you. No one seems to care anymore if you have to take off work or to pick up kids at school...it's their schedule or tough luck nowadays!

Call your doctors office and complain about it. That way if they didnt sch both they will be more careful next time and if they did they will call the imaging facility and chew them out.
I used to work in an imgaing facility and many times patients are called the day before to give you instuctions or even to let you know about your insurance and what % you will have to pay. If we forgot to sch something--our calls were recorded--and youy better bet doctors offices called us to find out what went wrong and in many cases the patient was worked in.
Sorry they screwed up your day.

What a wasted of a day! Sorry you had that happen.

That reminds me of the time I was scheduled for a CAT scan and I called them ahead of time to make sure that I didn't need to pick up that yucky, thick, white stuff to drink. They said "no".

So, I show up for the test and, you guessed it! The first question was how long ago did I finish drinking the yucky, thick, white stuff! I told them they told me I didn't have to.

As it turned out, it was not only a scan of my upper GI, but of the pelvic area, so it needed me to drink that stuff and I didn't, so they handed me the jug and a cup and I had to go to their cafeteria and drink and drink and drink.

Then, I came back and waited for them to "fit me in".

I know the feeling....

I went to see an Ortho about some hand/wrist problems and he scheduled me for some tests, and EMG and also he was very insistent that I have some osteoporsis screening/bone scan as a preventative measure. It wasn't related to why I was there and I have no symptoms or problems, but he was very insistent that it was important for all women my age to get this done. I had never even heard of it but he said insurance covers it so OK fine, I scheduled it. I showed up, paid my $15 co-pay and filled out a questionaire... and was told by the practioner that I was too young didn't present enough of the "warning signs" for insurance to cover the exam... so me, I'm out half a day of work and the $15 co-pay for a test I didn't need and didn't have....

I did complain and suggested that they talk with that Doctor (same clinic) about scheduling people for this exam in the future!
