With how horrible we will be eating while in the parks, I'd like to get a few fruits and veggies in if possible. Where in both DL and CA are good places to get fresh fruit and cold veggies? Thanks!

there are two markets. one in cars land ive seen looks to be a kippies place the other one i know is close to village hus i know ive seen them have fresh fruit not sure what veggies might have

We usually buy fruit and veggies at the stand on Main Street in DL or else by the Casey Junior train in Fantasy Land.

Not cold, but I always feel like I'm eating healthier when I get one Banyan Beef skewer and one veggie from Bengal BBQ. I spread the sauce from the beef one on the veggie one and it is so yummy! In fact, I plan to make the veggie skewer BBQ tomorrow for the 4th.

If I wanted cold veggies, I'd probably bring some from home and keep them in the fridge in the room. Cheaper that way.

In DL there are also fruit carts/stands across from Splash Mountain and right before Jungle Cruise!

In DCA there is one across from the Animation Building!

There are plenty of fresh fruit and veggie carts scattered around, I've never had a problem finding one when I wanted something fresh. They are pricey, but they have a decent selection and I've been happy with what I've purchased from them.

It is possible to get some veggies in your meals at DLR if you are willing to be a bit choosy about where you eat.

I recently had the Italian Chef salad from Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta in DCA. It had lots of yummy veggies: fresh greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers. It was easily big enough for two adults to share for lunch. http://allears.net/dlr/din/menu/men_pasta.htm

Also, I love the zesty jicama and mango slaw at the Hungry Bear in DL. We usually order the slaw instead of fries.

I totally agree with what pixiewings71 said. There are plenty of carts around, and everything has been great although expensive. We regularly get the grapes, watermelon and pineapple and have always been pleased with the quality.

I didn't think the prices were too bad, my kids got watermelon & a huge apple for $5
Obviously, it's more than the grocery store, but for a cold snack at DL, I'll take it! :thumbsup2

Last time I was in CA there was a fresh fruit stand
Close to the Hyperian Theater. It was so hot and the yummy cold fruit was great!

I am not sure what you mean about eating unhealthy in the parks, there are many, many healthy options and at most location you can get fruits or veggies instead of the fries.

In some locations there are no real unhealthy locations.

Same here!

My motto is to not overdo it just because we are on vacay, but to relax some of my Mommy rules.;)

I pack in organic fruits and veggies and when ordering a meal, try and opt for a fruit or salad. We typically split 2 adult meals between me, DH and DS. So sometimes for one, I'll get fruit/veg and the other fries/potato and we just share it.

We also always get only 1 "yummy treat" per day. Usually its a Tigger Tail because we all love them so much! But we also like to split a sundae or something.

So I guess my point is...that it's pretty easy to find a good balance. At least for me...;)

Yup, that is what we try to do too when eating out!

We think the fruit at DL is better than the fruit at home. We love the pineapple spears, and you can get these at the Dole Whip stand too!

You can eat as healthy or as unhealthy as you want. There are lots of yummy salads, my Favorite being the Boardwalk Field Green at Boarwalk Pizza & Pasta in DCA. In fact during our trip in April I ate a different salad every day of our trip. Fresh fruit is located at many places througout the park. One place I haven't seen mentioned is next to the exit of Jungle Cruise and of course Pineapple Spears from the Tiki Bar.

We always bring apples & bananas for the room too.

I always head to the fruit stand on Main Street -- everything is always good.
As to kids, I let them eat what they want -- it's part of the fun of Disneyland. No one has ever gotten sick or permanently damaged their health because of what they ate in one week at DL. The food cops have intruded into our lives too much anyway; at least at DL we can get away from them for a while.
