Hi. Last time I went to WDW I got a fruit basket for my wife that was in the room when we arrived. It worked out great and gave us some snacks for the next few days. My question is - have any of you done this as well, and if so, who did you use. I used the WDW Florist, but just wondered if there were any other better &/or less expensive I should look into using?

Thanks!

Me too, me too. I want to know this to. :upsidedow

I wanted to order a nice basket for my DGF and have it waiting for her in the room (not sure if you can do this in POP) but I've looked at the Disney Florist site and thought it was a little steep.

Just like the OP said, anyone know who's better &/or less expensive? :)

There were people here on the Dis that made baskets but I think there was a change in Florida law that said home based buiness can't put food in baskets. Last year, I did use WDW florists for a cute tote bag full of goodies but as with anything Disney it was expensive. If you are looking for food and beverages I would use wegoshop.com and just have snack delivered to your room.

I got an edible arrangements for valentines day. It was soooo good. Absolutely the best chocolate covered strawberries I have ever had. They have the strawberries sent to them fresh every day. The arrangements are bulky so you want to make sure you have a fridge if you want to enjoy it for more than one day. If you take ziploc bags with you, you can leave the arrangement as is it enjoy its beauty for awhile and then take the fruit off the sticks and store them in the ziplocs in the fridge so it takes up less room. My fruit lasted for about a week. It was really good.

I know the OP mentioned a fruit basket. I just wanted a mixed basket with many disney things and maybe some chocolates.

Speaking of chocolates, anyone know who delivers Chocolate covered strawberries? My DGF loves these, too bad The Disney Florist is so darn expensive.

Should be expected I guess. :rolleyes2

Depending on where you are staying I believe you can order these from room service. In Dec. they were on the room service menu @ the BCV. :)

I'll be staying at the POP if this helps. :)

I have a feeling that only the deluxe resorts have things like this.

I'll be there for 2 weeks so there's no way I can afford a deluxe resort, maybe next visit. :upsidedow

The cake thread says that the choc. covered strawberries can be ordered through the GF. It doesn't mention if they are available anywhere else...

So if they don't deliver to the POP, does that mean I have to go to the GF and pick them up myself? :confused3 I don't mind if that's my only option.

Isn't there a company that delivers chocolate strawberries to the value resorts?

I got a fruit "basket" from my DH. It cam from the disney floirst - the container was a collander with Mickey head holes.
I do not find it on the disney florist web-site , so they may not make it any more.

I did find:
Bountiful Fruit © Snack18
Cradled in a whimsical Mickey head basket you will find a variety of fresh fruit to satisfy and optimize your health.

For my trip last year, I ordered a gift basket from Memories By Sarah (which I believe is now Memories By Betsy. I requested fruit but wasn't able to include anything that wasn't already packaged. However, she found a lot of good Disney snacks to include in the basket. I was also able to get some bottled water along with the basket, which was nice since we didn't have a way to get to a grocery store.

The gift basket was incredibly affordable (you can spend as much or as little as you want with a reasonable base charge for the basket and delivery.) We got into POP, went down to Downtown Disney and when we came back it was in the room. Pretty cool!

I can't post pictures here, but you can see some shots on my trip report from last year by clicking the link below.
