Have read and read in the forums about how nice it is to put "frozen" water bottles or gatorade in your backpack or soft cooler(and then drink after melting), before setting out for a day at the theme parks. #1 Question: Is there a tip on where to go or what to use to "freeze" the drinks if you're staying in one of the WDW resorts ????

If you are staying in one of Disney's "Home away from home" resorts they have kitchens with fridges in them. Or, you can rent a fridge (small) for $10 a day.

We a fanny pack that has a bladder in it (they also make backpack ones too), we fill it with as much ice from the ice machines as it will hold then fill with bottled water. Since we have the smaller size and two adults drinking it at lunch we get cups of ice and a single bottle of water and refill. Good for the rest of the day.

Come to think of it...I have some nifty wide mouth water bottles with insulated bag/shoulder straps. I can just fill them easily with ice from the WDW hotel & have a cold drink during the day. Thanks for the memory jog! :bounce:

What I plan to do is freeze all my water bottles before I leave home and throw them in the cooler and fill with ice. Then I can keep refilling with ice at the resort. Hopefully the bottles will remain frozen for a couple of days. The last few days might be a stretch but they will still be cold at least.

The parks give you a cup of ice when needed. Some stands give you large cups. We take a bottle with us that the opening is large enough for the ice cubes.

I like Ratpak's idea(freezing water before leaving home), if you're driving like we are. Some of the other replies give me another idea. We weren't going to buy Brita water bottles as recommended all over these discussions, BUT....., after viewing these comments I had the idea of buying 2 Brita bottles, packing with hotel ice each morning before leaving, then adding water at the theme park. Don't know how long they'll last(Still have to find those insulated bottle slings I've read about). Anyway, we may try this the first day. If it isn't worth the trouble, we'll do it commando style.
