Frozen Summer Fun Extended Once Again?

It looks like a couple sites are now reporting that this is extending into 2015 (no surprise). Is this something that runs everyday? How does this affect the crowds at HS?

I wonder how long they will run it. Into the spring/summer? Will it have any affect on SWW? I don't think they will be able to to both at the same time, but you never know. I really hope this ends before SWW starts. I'm slightly concerned it will diminish the Star Wars part with adding Frozen, and DS and I will not be happy.

The rumor is that at the very least the sing-along will be extended and will be moving into the Theatre where American Idol has been. Idol is closing the end of this month. The fireworks are only running on weekends in September with no indication yet of an extension, and as they have been using MVMCP/Christmas parade floats for the processional, those will have to go back to MK before the Christmas parties start. As for the ice rink and the rest of it, I haven't heard anything.

The rumor I heard was that the sing-along-would be closing at the end of September and re-opening around the first of November in the Idol theater (which FYI is smaller than the theatre where it is now), BUT, my friend's travel agent told her yesterday that she has secured FP+ for her family for the sing-along for her late October trip. I question whether that is true, because it sure hasn't shown up for our trip, and I have not heard of anyone being able to get an October FP+ for the sing along yet, but you never know.

I called WDW agent and she said there is no official announcement and she does not see any emails indicating that there is an extension. Hopefully they'll extend it till end of the year.

I'm hoping they bring it back next summer!

My youngest daughter absolutely loved it!!!!

We had the VIP package and she wore her Anna dress and was chosen to walk in the Royal Procession! She practically floated down the street!

It was one of the most magical days we've ever experienced at Disney!

We're returning next August and I have all of my fingers and toes crossed that they will bring Frozen back again!

The parade will have to end by Nov 1st or so. Disney cannibalized the MVMCP floats to make the Frozen parade, so they will have to get them back to MK for the first party. As for the sing along and ice skating, I suspect that will be there until SWW at least.

I, too, question how they can do Frozen and SWW, but where theres a will theres a way, I suppose.

Chip and Co. had something on their page about it this morning. Nowhere in the article did it state that it was a done deal. I am probably one of the few that hopes it doesn't happen. Loved the movie, but so over the hype. They are running it into the ground. I don't want to deal with the Frozen crowd in October. DHS is our relaxing, more laid back park. I'd love for it to stay that way, but Disney is a business first and foremost, so if they think it will bring in more money, they will do it. Hopefully the Disney Parks Blog will post something official soon. May have to change some plans around to avoid DHS on certain days depending on what exactly is getting extended.

That's why I think it would be perfect if they brought it back next summer, just as they did it this past summer.

It started the day after 4th of July. That's perfect, since the last SWW is around mid-June.

I know I sure would love an extension! Since I am not too hopeful about getting a FP for us for our 2 days at MK, something at HS would help my dd experience Frozen at DW! I just hope they announce something soon since we are only a couple weeks away from having to make out FP selections.

I think the concern of Frozen ruining SWW is quite a bit "cart before the horse" considering the rumor mill is only saying "extended into 2015". SWW is a huge money maker/grab for the Studios and they are not going to blow that. As shown by last weeks villian event DHS can't do "big events". I doubt Disney is willing to host two large fan based events at the same time in the same park. IF Frozen is extended I would not expect it to extend past Christmas.

I for one really hope they don't. They have created a mess at DHS with the opening show. They need to end that junk and go back to opening the turnstiles early and allowing people to enter staggered. Instead of the insanity they have created.

I could see the sing-a-long continuing into the forseeable future and possibly even moving into the American Idol space. It's popular and will help disperse crowds. I'm hoping that the opening show is ended since it just creates a bottle neck. The parade can't last since the floats are needed for MVMCP.

All guests are now held at the hat for a welcome message from Olaf. From reports, it's made quite the mess of RD at DHS all summer. I havent' experienced it (yet--we leave tomorrrow!) but I have done SWW and seen that opening show with the Storm Troopers, and once they drop the ropes, it is mad chaos.

To me, the name "Frozen SUMMER Fun" only makes sense for the summer. Even if they keep some parts of it (like the singalong) I think that they'll have to change some things up and lose parts of it, and I'm hoping that this goofy welcome show is one of those things.

No, they have reinstated a formal rope drop at DHS - everybody is herded at the hat like cattle to watch a 5 minute video w/ Olaf and a live action emcee.

Then the stampede begins. Look on YouTube for the madness that occurs as people try to get to TSMM first. No thanks!

Last week I had reported in the Frozen Tips thread that I had been hearing strong rumors from different sources about an extension into the new year. Someone at Oaken's had told me last week that a commercial was soon to be filmed which suggested some longevity. They had been told it would be shot before the Funland opened.

In 2 days, there are auditions for more sing-along characters.

As for SWW, if you look at Disney's website it says coming Summer 2015. Past years, it said spring. The Villains Unleashed times guide said SWW was coming early summer 2015.

I've found that with these, you can usually just google the part of the link you can see and get to where the poster intended. Quoting a link usually reveals a little more if there's not enough there to find it.

Anyway...doesn't say much except that the sing-along is moving to the American Idol theater in October so sort of seems like they are in fact extending it, rather than doing it again next summer.
